This is ridiculous! Just ridiculous!

I don't know if it was our fault for expecting something we weren't even sure of or if it was just an unfortunate incident or whether he intentionally did it just to confuse us. My head aches whenever I think of it.

Earlier today, I made a post when we were one hour to writing our blood physiology test. I, as well as many of my other course mates were all optimistic about how the test would turn out to be easy because we were given enough time to read, which we did and the encouraging words the lecturer whose test we wrote gave us was a boost to our confidence. It was all positive energy until we entered into the hall in which we were to conduct the test only for us to meet the greatest shock of our lives. You probably might be thinking that it was difficult but that wasn't it at all.

The lecturer didn't distribute any question papers, instead he used a projector to display the questions on the white wall. They numbers from one to thirty and the allocated time for each question was 45 seconds. The questions were presented in the form of a slideshow so each question skips to the next question after exactly 45 seconds. This way, once a question passes, it is not coming back!! and this means if you don't understand a question properly, asking for clarification from the lecturer would definitely cost you the time allocated to that question.

As if this lecturer had planned it, there were a good number of incomprehensible questions. Prior to the beginning of the test, he had told us that the questions wouldn't be MCQs but Objectives, meaning that one is expected to provide only one is expected to tick only one answer in the answer sheet, but this proved ridiculous when we found that about seven questions had more than two to three correct answers. Since following instructions in an exam is extremely important, this gave most of us a dilemma and the time we spent contemplating what we have just seen was wasted without knowing what whether to stick with the instructions or just shade all the correct options, while stuck in this situation another question might have already appeared lol.

The test was so frustrating. I mean this is something that you have definitely read and definitely know but yet can't answer, tell me what could be more frustrating than this. At then end of the test, I was sad, a little depressed and kind of angry. Of course we formed a delegation after the test to lay out complaint to the lecturer about the nature of the questions we encountered but the man simply smiled and said anyone who followed instructions is safe.

**"" like seriously??"" **

"How the fuck would a person stick to the instructions when the nature of your questions greatly tempts a person to disobey those instructions?"

Well what did when I encountered those questions tick all those answers that were correct, despite the instructions stated otherwise. I just assumed he wanted us to demonstrate an example of doing the right thing even if the rules tells us otherwise, perhaps he wanted us to challenge wrong rules, not to bend them to our selfish interest but to amend them towards the direction of what it right. I dunno. At this point I don't even know what he intended to achieve with all that.

Others however assumed it was a typographical error and added an imaginary **" except... ** then singled out the odd one among all th correct ones. The man still didn't tell us what he meant even after the test.

Whatever way was the correct one, at least we now all know whom we're dealing with. Luckily for us the second part of the test would hold in the 15th of this month. We shall do better God willing.

If you've read up to this point, thanks for reading my rants.

I felt the frustration while reading this :) I believe you will do better the next time. Perhaps your professor is trying to teach you some things and it's up to you to decipher what it is hehe :)

I thought if it that way but then he wouldn't say anything even after the test. Maybe he truly wanted us to realize something. I hope things go well next time. Thanks Ifarmgirl for stopping by!

Well what did when I encountered those questions tick all those answers that were correct, despite the instructions stated otherwise.

That's the right way to do it.

Judging from what you told us, I think the teacher wanted to test your knowledge thoroughly. Those who have learnt knew what the answers were and could do the test in the allowed time frame. When you're in the medical field, there's no time for clarifications, you need to act immediately and know what to do.

I agree with you. They test not only the knowledge, but also understanding. Both sides of students who approached the situation differently both have their reasons. We will just all have to wait for the release date.

Preparation, relax and confident is the key to past the test. But its okey there are times that we might feel that the question is irrelevant, well better next time.

Indeed. It wasn't really about the difficulty but more about the nature of the test. We shall do better next time. We shall prepare more for the next test. Thanks a lot.

Just 45 seconds? What a punishment! Does he think that everyone is clever or brilliant in that class? Some people will have to read a question like 3 times before they could comprehend it.

It was so strange. While some questions were easy, others need more than one review to understand. Not all questions are the same.

Now this is so much anger in one post😅.
But to be frank, these lecturers are really frustrating people. Like what sort of new testing strategy is this?

It's something I have never seen before. I was so angry and frustrated when typing this. We all just have to wait for the release date to see how things turn out to be.

I don't see any reason why lecturers should be venting their anger on the students..

Everything is just messed up.

But there hope dear.

That’s an asshole of a lecturer that’s for sure. That’s completely unrealistic of an exam or a situation you would encounter in real life! No one does that shit unless you’re in special operations in the military lol. Sounds like this lecturer is on a power trip as most of them can be.

This comment literally cracked me up haha. You sound like you've had a fair share of annoying lecturers. They sure can be evil as hell.
