MY STRESS RELIEF HABIT THAT ALWAYS WORKS

The downcasting weight of frustration is what most passes me off about being stressed. I hate to be stressed. I never ever identify as one of those who perform optimally under pressure and stress. Never! It slows me. It disorganizes me and puts me in a state of disorient, which is not a welcome feeling, as we know.

Stress is overwhelming and everyday, everytime, I try so hard to keep at a certain frequency of order and sanity so I don't fall in that line.

Notwithstanding, irrespective of plans and lifestyle, I get to feel the heat every once a while. Like two days ago, when I wasn't feeling too well but had to run my shift at work from night through to morning, and then go out in the day handling tasks that I had procrastinated for long until the deadline was face-to-face with me.
It was a lot at the time and I could see myself falling gradually. My actions were erratic, my thoughts were all over the place and Iit took effort for me to stay composed. It was all that I could do to keep myself from screaming.

Back home, later on, still bearing some nervousness from all of the pent-up stress, all that I could do to find some relief was exercise. It was not my first point of call of stuff to do but when i returned to find one of my brothers lifting weight, i just joined in withoit giving it consideration. Playing fotball was a best bet(i yearned to), but the day was too far spent and late to find anyone at the field. From weights to random exercises, I felt the tightening in my chest dissolve. It made me light, like air, I imagined I could fly. The beating of the chest, working hard of the muscles, sort of redirects all the negative energy to use such that it evaporates. Blood and oxygen circulation helps with these things, I have realized.

Right after that, I took a cold shower, letting the water run from my head to my feet and that settled it all for my nerves and the temperature. Some good meal afterwards and I hit my bed and went to sleep. I love to sleep very much.

That is exactly all the magic and relief I need for whatever the stress is. The beauty of habits and patterns as this, is how, inspite of the intensity of whatever stress factor it is, the routine always works. Like mine does. Like magic.

A workout can do wonders to get our minds to stop for a while and focus on something else. The shower, meal and sleep all sound like a good recipe to relieve stress. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
