Sound in the Cinema [ENG/ESP]
Hello friends of Hive! Happy Sunday, today I will tell you about a workshop I did on sound in cinema.
This was in 2015, the workshop was held at the CNAC, which is the National Autonomous Center for Cinematography in Venezuela.
Hola amigos de Hive! Feliz domingo, el día de hoy les contaré sobre un taller que hice sobre el sonido en el cine.
Esto fue en el año 2015, el taller fue dictado en el CNAC que es el Centro Nacional Autónomo de Cinematografía en Venezuela.
The sound in the cinema has several branches, in this case it was oriented towards recording. How the different types of microphones are used, in which environment each one is used, etc.
They also taught us about the components of sound, which are: Dialogue, this presents the story showing the interaction and communication of two or more characters. They also taught us to differentiate between voiceover and voiceover and we did exercises with some examples.
El sonido en el cine tiene varias ramas, en este caso fue orientado hacia la grabación. Cómo se utilizan los distintos tipos de micrófonos, en cuál ambiente se utiliza cada uno, etc.
También nos enseñaron sobre los componentes del sonido, los cuales son: El diálogo, este presenta la historia mostrando la interacción y comunicación de dos o más personajes. También nos enseñaron a diferenciar la voz en off y la voz over e hicimos ejercicios con algunos ejemplos.
There are also sound effects, which in turn are divided into 3 types: subjective, descriptive and objective. For this we also did several exterior and interior recordings and added the different types of effects following a script that we had previously planned.
También están los efectos de sonido, que estos a su vez se dividen en 3 tipos que son: subjetivos, descriptivos y objetivos. Para esto también hicimos varias grabaciones en exteriores e interiores y agregamos los distintos tipos de efectos siguiendo un guión que habíamos planificado previamente.
One of the topics that I liked most about this course was about the soundtrack and background music. These provide the emotional aspect of sound design. They can be used to identify a character, add dramatic impact, increase tension, or set the scene's action.
Una de los temas que más me gustó de este curso fue sobre la banda sonora y la música de fondo. Estos proporcionan el aspecto emocional del diseño de sonido. Pueden ser servir para identificar un personaje, agregar impacto dramático, incrementar la tensión, o ambientar la acción de la escena.
Definitely, this side in the cinema is quite extensive and important, since no matter how good video, set design and actors you may have, without good quality and sound planning, the final result will not be what the director desired.
Definitivamente este lado en el cine es bastante extenso e importante ya que por muy buen video, escenografía y actores que se puedan tener, sin una buena calidad y planificación de sonido, el resultado final no será el deseado por el director.
