Apple Tree Pruning 03-11-2021
Hello friends welcome to all of you in @ocd community hope you all are fine safe and healthy.
Morning
When I wake up early in the morning and do necessary activities of the day then I went into kitchen and had morning salt tea (noon chai) named in the local language after that my dad told me @suhail today you have to go in Apple orchid for yearly tree pruning, I replied papa yes.
What is tree pruning
Fruit tree pruning is the cutting and removing of selected parts of a fruit tree. It spans a number of horticultural techniques. Pruning often means cutting branches back, sometimes removing smaller limbs entirely. It may also mean removal of young shoots, buds, and leaves.
Then me and the pruner specilists namely @idrees and @nadeem went in the orchid and ready for work.
Instruments used in pruning
- Pruning shears.
- Pruning saw.
- Ladder.
- Shredder.
Lipton tea
After completing one of the tree and little bit tired then we take 15 minutes break and had Lipton tea with desi tortilla, these are the wonderful moments that I have recorded in my memory ever.
After that we went back on track and continuously work till the lunch time has come almost we have completed 15 trees. 1:30 pm we had lunch. After that we on work till 5:20 pm then we stop work and come to home.
Merits of tree pruning
Snow is the most important factor for apple season in Kashmir specially in shopian District the most quality producing apples of the valley. But excess snow is not beneficial for apple trees so we have to prune trees before heavy snow fall.
Pruning helps us to produce better and quality fruits so one have to be sincere and specialist in tree pruning, pruning also helps us to cut the damaged parts like buds etc.

Hello @suhajazz786! I enjoyed reading your post and learning about pruning fruit trees. This was my first year as a gardener and I have plans to go out to my garden next week to do some plant pruning to prepare for next Spring.
Were you nervous to climb some of those trees? Some of those branches looked quite thin.
It was nice seeing some of the tools you used too.
I would suggest you take a look at the Amazing Nature Community. A post such as this would fit well there and I think the members would enjoy reading :)
Thanks@crosheille i love professional gardening..where from you are
