It's Back, Allergy Attack!
Surprise! It's back.
My allergy is back.
Ugh.
For 11 years, I have been occasionally suffering allergic rhinitis and I abhor it every time it gets switched. I thought I would only suffer from it once this year but starting this month, it had signs which now turned into a full blown allergy.
My throat became itchy last month when I was searching for an old document in our cabinet but then I'm thankful it didn't pushed through. It was only beginning this month that my allergy went into complete form.
I believe that what triggered it was the severe dust from a road construction at the nearby city. On the last week of November, I went out to meet a friend and on my way home, the jeepney I was riding passed through the road being constructed. I could literally see the dusts floating in the air.
Before you tell me, YES, I was wearing a face mask and even held my breath when we passed through this road. I even took a bath when I got home to remove the dusts that had probably stuck on my skin.
I started not feeling well and as days went by, my throat became itchy until my allergy was at it ultimate form. I hated allergic rhinitis because your body over produces mucous. And it's not just simply mucous, a very sticky mucous that you could hardly expel from your system.
I had three antihistamine tablets and consumed all of it but it wasn't enough. My allergies went back and I have no choice but to only use this Vicks Inhaler to ease the irritable feeling. I was also eating oranges and drinking hot water with lemon juice. The hot water feels really great on the throat.
Two days ago, my brother dropped by the house and brought the things I requested for him to buy. (The 1st photo on this post.) Antihistamine good for a week, saline spray, and mouthwash. I didn't buy the tablet which thins the mucous because it still needs doctor's prescription.
I was already able to drink one antihistamine today and hoping that my allergies will start to subside soon. I want to celebrate the holidays allergy-free or else I wouldn't be able to enjoy the holidays. I still have at least two weeks to recover and I wish the road gets constructed faster because it's part of the route the jeepney I'm riding whenever I have to go to the grocery.

sad 😢 i have allergies too and i feel you how you suffer..be careful of what you are in taking i hope you allergy is not inner yeah all you need is give yourself extra careful..
I get allergies from dust and smoke. So i have to be extra careful when going out but sometimes i still get allergies. 😩 i feel like choking and drowning when i have allergy. 😩

My daughter is suffering from rhinitis too and it could last for a couple of months. The culprit is always the dust mites which is tedious to get rid of. Histamines work temporarily and I only give that to her if she is so stuffy and miserable. Her pediatrician suggested a more economical solution which is to irrigate her nose using saline solution (those IV drips used in hospitals) which could be purchased in pharmacies and kept in clean bottles. That seems to do the trick albeit slowly. It helps to clean her nasal passage and mitigate flare-ups. She had been using it for many years since she was 5yo. She's 13 now and hopefully, it goes away when she grows up.
I was tempted to purchase that but I'm scared looking at how you should do it. 😅 And I can't find something that looks safe, everything I see online is cheap and made in C. I'm skeptical of the saline solution they sell. 😅😬 there's this procedure called immunotherapy for allergies. I want to try that but it seems expensive and needs regular visit to the hospital.. so maybe i'll do it someday 😅
I understand your concern perfectly. Luckily the saline solution sold locally is produced by the local pharmaceutical companies that carry big names like Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline etc. I would feel reluctant had they been imported from C too 😁
