Rural Vermont - Peace, Love, and Ice Cream

There is a new contest in the Introduce Your City Community.
@beeber says "Whatever comes to your mind, how big or small the symbol is doesn't matter. The main thing is that the topic of PEACE is in the center of the post, that it is your hometown and that you use your own photos and words."

I was inspired by @melinda010100

and found a smaller peace pole in rural Vermont at the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory.

Ben and Jerry's has never been shy about politics. They famously make the Peace Pop and donate proceeds to 1% for Peace which was founded by Ben to promote spending 1% of the US defense budget on peace.

We also have real cows to welcome you to rural Vermont

Since we are tasked with introducing our city, here's my little corner of rural Vermont

Everything in Vermont revolves around towns. Towns are like what some states call townships. Smaller than a county but often don't have a village. My town is 30 square miles and has a few over 1000 people. I think all towns have a post office, town hall, school, and it seems an old church is required also ;)

I guess this is our local store. Maple Meadow Farms sells fresh eggs, milk and maple syrup all produced on their farm. Its open 4 days a week in the mornings 8:30am to noon but stays open late one of those days until 4:30pm :) Maple Meadow Farm was founded in 1946 and is family run by the 2nd generation (with some help from the 3rd generation).

Peace and Love to all from rural Vermont.

We are loving it. So different than Cali. Fun but different. I almost led with the dairy cow standing in the field pic. Thats iconic Vermont.

Ha great :-) I love your entry! Did you ever see peolpe eating ice cream and not looking happy and peaceful?
So in relation to your towns size you definitely have the most percent of places dedicated to peace.
I also love the white church, also looks very peaceful.
Thank you for joining the IYC contest :-)
