Marc Quinn is a British artist belonging to Britart, born in London in 1964.
One of his best known works is the 'siren'. A gold statue that weighs about 50 kilograms and is worth £1.5 million. You can see it in the photos, it is recognisable among the others because the statue represents Kate Moss, British model and fashion designer. Quinn's sculptures deal with themes related to the human body. The white sculptures I have included in the post demonstrate this clearly. You can see how in these sculptures there are limbs that do not correspond to the dimensions we are used to seeing. The plaster statue that is in this post sends a strong and clear message, it shows how feelings are much stronger than any mental or physical deformity.
The other work I photographed and included in this post is Marc Quinn's Galactic Eye. Works in which the artist wants to demonstrate the connection that man has with the inner universe.

Una delle sue opere più conosciute e la “sirena”. Una statua in oro che pesa circa 50 chilogrammi e vale 1,5 milioni di sterline. La potete vedere nelle foto, è riconoscibile tra le altre perchè la statua rappresenta Kate Moss, modella e stilista britannica. Le sculture di Quinn trattano dei temi relazionati al corpo umano. Le sculture bianche che ho inserito nel post dimostrano questo in maniera chiara. Si possono notare come in queste sculture ci sono degli arti che non corrispondono alle dimensioni che siamo abituati a vedere. La statua in gesso che è in questo post lancia un forte e chiaro messaggio, mostra come i sentimenti siano molto più forti di qualsiasi altra deformazione mentale o fisica.
L’altra opera che ho fotografato ed inserito in questo post è l’occhio galattico di Marc Quinn. Opere in cui l’artista vuole dimostrare la connessione che ha l’uomo con l’interno universo.
