Hello Hivers, welcome to my very first post after my introduction. Today i will be talking you through the purpose of never giving up, and at the end of this, i hope to have had a positive impact on your everyday lives in one way or the other.

For some people, life will forever be a never ending cycle of both ups and downs, which would make them feel like giving up and putting everything down, but please, it is never advisable to do such, because you never know what is in store for you ,in the near future.

There are many people who have worked almost their whole lives, to achieve a particular goal, and although it can be very painful, they turn their backs around because they have no hope of success. This then makes them start all over again, and that alone can kill a persons morale, because no matter how tough a person is, we must remember that we are all humans, who feel emotions.

Let me tell you a little tale my dad told me, about 3 months ago;
There was a boy called Wale, who had finished his secondary school, and was looking to enter the University the same year because he was very eager to begin his life as an adult. When it was time, he went to write an exam called JAMB, which is an exam you must write, if you want to enter a University in Nigeria. When he wrote it the first time, the results didn’t come out as he wanted, because he didn’t reach the pass mark, he was very saddened and disappointed in himself, but he held his head high and tried again. At the second time of asking, he did better than the first, but it still wasn’t enough. For a week he was not himself, he locked up in his room for hours and barely even talked to anyone.
He then decided to take drastic actions , he made his mind up that before he tries for the third and last time, things would have to change, he decide to cut off a few friends, reduce the way he goes out, put away some of his electronics, and even attend 1 or 2 extra lessons per day.

He entered the examination room and came out with a little more confidence than he had in the previous sittings, he waited for two days, and after an anxious wait, everything came out positive, and he had reached the pass mark. BUT WAIT, this wasn’t the end of the saga. He went on to apply for the University of his choice, where he was told he would be gotten back to in the next 4-6 weeks. He had done his screening, and had a positive feeling that all would be completed in 6 weeks.
Wale waited, and waited, and waited. Week 6, Week 7, Week8, Week 9. NO RESPONSE. He then decided to check online, only for him to find out that the maximum intake has been reached. Wale was gutted, he felt like all his hard work had gone to waste.

Two days later, 3 children were playing football outside, and they saw something which looked like blood, flowing out of the pipe which was linked to Wale’s bathroom. They panicked, but at the same time, they were unsure, so they went in to check on him. And what they found was shocking.
It was Wale’s deceased body! he had taken his own life, due to all the bad news and disappointments in his life.

The children felt down and uneasily went to tell his Parents, who were heart broken. But what his Mum said minutes after was what touched everyone.

She revealed that Wale was part of the set who actually got the admission (which was what he wanted), but she and his Dad wanted him to join just a month later, because they had planned what was meant to be a memorable surprise the weekend before he was supposed to resume, as his parents thought missing the first 3 weeks to one month of the very first semester would do little to no harm, especially because they were trying to do something memorable for him, and this was why it was kept a secret from him.

The moral lesson of this tale, is to encourage you to continue to fight for what you believe you can do, no matter what the situation might be, or no matter what anyone says, because there will forever be obstacles in your way if you plan on doing great things.

I personally have had some success when it comes to staying strong and not giving up, such as the time when I tried my best to make my school football team, which seemed nearly impossible during my first two years in secondary school, but as time went on, i continued working hard and being the best i could, and before I left, i was a regular in the team ,and i was extremely proud of myself for that great achievement .

There are many times in life, where we would find ourselves in a `failure at the edge of success’ situation but I would give my best advice, and say the best way to handle such situations is to stay calm, and to access all possible options on how to deal with the situation, and strive to always reach the finish line, despite the amount of hurdles that you face during the journey, because there isn’t always an easy route to success.

Thank you, and i hope i have managed to impact you on never giving up.
See you soon
