What is Bitcoin without altcoins

Lately, I've been reading and noticing in all the communities I’m part of that a lot of people—especially those newer to the space who have only been through one bear market—are starting to lose faith in crypto. They’re feeling like they’ll never see returns or higher prices in altcoins, and they’re thinking about selling everything to stack sats because they believe Bitcoin is the only thing that matters.

Sure, there’s some truth to that. Bitcoin is still the King, and every other crypto is tied to its price moods. But what is Bitcoin without altcoins?
A Ferrari without an engine. An ancient column without even a description plaque. It would never have sparked interest or gotten to where it is now. Alts are here because the space evolved. It’s thanks to BTC, but BTC is also here thanks to the evolution of the space. Without Smart Contracts, you’d have nothing. You’d just have computers endlessly running a code with no future. A technology left on the shelf like expired chips. Without Ethereum, you wouldn’t have DeFi, tokenization, or decentralized lending (who’d have believed it?!). Bitcoin is here because the others are here.

The space is evolving at a rapid pace, with projects bringing new ideas and showcasing all that can be done on blockchain and even on Bitcoin itself. Now we’re on the verge of having smart contracts on Bitcoin; who would have thought? Gavin Wood, Vitalik, and many other minds started because of BTC, but they’re moving forward together.

The stack sats mentality is as chaotic and superficial as it gets. We've all picked coins that didn't pan out for this reason or that, and that’s just part of the innovation in the space and the experience built through study and wise (or not-so-wise) choices. But this is purely a cycle of money—nothing more. Think of the entirety of coins like a champagne tower, with Bitcoin as the top glass. Gradually, the champagne flows from the first glass and spills over into the others.

So stick to the plan keep a higher percentage of BTC in your portfolio and buy only well researched alt coin.
