Who have thought this ? Not even me.
This one pictures tells a complete story, how a cycle can be put in best use but asking for more laburous effort. Who could have thought shopping delivery via a cycle? And that too in busiest and glamorous lifestyle city of Delhi. I ha e seen newspaper vendor, little street snacks counters on cycle. But making product delivery on a bicycle, never seen before, not even in my village. No doubt the need to make daily ends meet makes people to do extreme things. And this one such great example.
What more appealing to me is that in days where motorbikes, scooty, mini pick up trucks, etc were part of the delivery system. One guy is cycling through the street to deliver the customer products. He is doing his job but nobody will ask for the poor fellow effort and even care to ask a glass of water.
The incident is of today, when this guy came under our building. He asks me for some flat number and immediately caught my attention. I have seen other mode of delivering system even the electric bikes were used nowadays but not a cycle. At the time of timely delivery as promised by different online platform, this guy ensuring the big companies remain upto their deliverables through paddling his ways.
The guy is well built, and cycle is one from the old school. Mostly used in 80's & 90's and not even in good condition. It was carrying a heavy load at the back and also few bags on the handle bar. He delivers the product in random flats and moved over.
It is not such these delivery boys were limited to a particular apartments and blocks. They have specified area where they have to make their delivery. And this area may extend to many kilometer. My heart goes out to this guy who is making all the laburous effort to make timely delivery by cycling through the differrnt streets and crossing many traffics.
Last time I made a post on cycle I specifically mentioned that cycle are for the poor and this one is perfect proof to that.
Handling mobile at one hand, and paddling through the roads looking for the differrnt household address in differrnt locality. For sure he is strong enough to carry out the work load with so much ease. Delivery and thst too on cycle is not an easy job, but he is making his effort to ensures earning livlihood for himself and for his family.
Have you seen something like this before that tells a differrnt cycle story?
That's his business and no one would want to take it so seriously the way he does. He had taken this as a job and making earning from it.
In today time you hardly find anyone doing so physical effort unless he is a labour or a Mason. This one is of another class who hardly get even a dollor for their deliveries
Here in The Netherlands are loads of these delivery bicycles. Most of them are electric. It's becoming a bit of a plague I think. It first were the pizza delivery guys. After that the other food delivery and now it's even the online supermarkets that deliver groceries at your door.
People are just to lazy to take their bike and ride to the store.
But this guy is probably making a living with this job.
I never rode an electric bikes but I think it is more easier to ride... this guy is an online deliver guy putting all effort in timely delivery......what helps them is that easily squeeze in between the traffic on road
I love to shoot heavy-weighted cyclist carriers of some shit, it may be a lot of fun! Have some Hive !PIZZA and !DHEDGE as an extra. ☘️
Then come to India, you might get tired
..thanks for extra love 🥂
haha! I'd love to (as a tourist). One of my acquaintances (I was helping him in creation of a book), he was a photographer, and he came to India (it was about 208-2010). Was very precautios and well informed... but still, was completely robbed off al of his (quite expensive) Nicon photo arsenal. India is not the easiest country to travel. But I'd love to. Lets share love to the Hive !PIZZA
Unless and untill you do not have a local known person then such things may happen.....one of my friend visited Delhi, she booked online hotel and when she arrived she was shocked to see the congested set up...later she asked me arrange agood one and she stayed here for more than 15 days without any issue...

Haha, I happened to be in that group, making food deliveries with a bicycle! 😅
I used to work part-time in order to earn my daily/monthly allowance, as I mentioned in this post, and that's when I decided to become a food delivery person. Since I didn't have a motorbike, using a bicycle was the most convenient and cost-effective means of transportation for me at the time.
That is quite an 8nspirati9n for others too and easy way to give cycle a much needed recognition
Well I just had to do what I gotta do then, make a living!
But I do enjoy the part time job as I got to cycle around the city 😊
