Gems of Nine Spires Architecture - Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, India
There are many pligrimiage sites to visit in India. Each of them were architect beautifully, while some of them were in the hills mountains in their natural shape as the construction is a difficult task. There is one such temple situated in the banks of hoogly river which is a architectural masterpiece of its own. The place is known as Dakshineshwari Kali Temple. located in West Bengal region of Eastern India.
The temple is very popular among the devotee and is one of the shakti peetha which has very powerful deity in form of Parashakti Adya Kali, also known as Adishakti Kalika. Goddess Kali is associated with energy, power, darkness, destruction and death.
The temple was constructed by Rani Rashmoni of Bengal in 1855. There is a story too associated with the construction of this temple complex.
Legend says that, Rani Rashmoni was planning a pligrimage trip to Kashi (now varaasi) Just before the night of the pilgrimage the Divine Mother Kali appeared in her dream asking her to build a shrine for her on the banks of the river Ganga and there she would accept worship from her devotees
Following the instruction of the goddess Rani Rashmoni, cancelled her trip and started all efforts like buying land, arranging labour etc for the construction of temple.
The architecture of the temple is known as navratna or nine spires which is a historical form of Bengal architecture. nav means Nine and Ratna means Jewel. These are very old form of architecture where spires / towers were made over the curved roof. This is very unique construction style which is not found in any other parts of the country. These adds elegance to any building. The temple compound has a larg3 courtyard surrounding the main nine spires temple.
One can experince *Huge cosmic energy at this place. The place is also very popular for tantra vidya. This is first school of tantarism. The spiritual history of this temple has also about the mystic sage and reformer Ramakrishna Paramahansa and his wife Sarada Devi. They were the original caretaker and religious performer of the temple since ages.
They occupy a huge place in every Bengal people. They even worshipped at every home, you may find their photographs hanging in walls or at their worship place of every Bengal home.
The temple is open for all faith. One more interesting things related to this temple is that, the temple was built on the Muslim burial site of that time and also part of the space was brought from an English man. So every religion have ther contribution made for the construction.
There is no restriction on the entry inside the temple compl3x. Any devotee can visit the temple and seek blessig from the goddess. Any devotee can experience the tranquility at this place. Always buzzing with people, are sure to take care of your stuffs. Although, mobile, handbags, camera or any electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple. But enjoy the magical vibes of this place mere staring the nine spires.

At first look, I was in awe of the architectural design of the temple. It looks magnificent. Even if cameras and phones are not allowede inside, (though I was thrilled to know what's inside) just the mere photos of it ouside made me appreciate its beauty.
The inside has the goddess idol, you may search over internet, how thr godd3ss looks like. People have lot of faith on her. the amazing is that how the architecture were designed at that time when there was no technology nor much options available
