Best Day Ever: Free Food, Unexpected Cash, and Great Friends

Yesterday was an awesome day for me because of some things, which I will be talking about in this post. Truly aside from those basic moments, I find it difficult to remember what happened during the early moments of the day but to think about it, it first started waking up from sleep after going to bed with hunger.

Then I called my friend (former roommate) @mayorkeys to ask what he planned on eating this morning, as I had nothing at home to cook and could not think of anything; let us say I was very lazy to cook. That was how I contributed with the little money with mayorkeys and we planned something together. That morning, I ate till my stomach was full.

There is one feeling of happiness when you eat full after being very hungry for a while; this was what happened. I had that sensation of joy.

One other thing that made me very happy was that someone dashed me money without asking, about $7 or so. It may not look much but I was so happy because the person considered me and wanted to show appreciation for something I was not expecting anything from.

And for real, the money came when I really needed it. I had to lend out all the money I had on me to a friend that needed my help and I left my bank account in red. I don't usually do this but I wanted to help and hoped that money would come my way one way or another and when it did, I was happy.

The second thing that made my day was when another friend of mine texted me to take me out that evening, all expense paid by him. We went out to a peppersoup joint, which was so worth it. The cost of a plate of peppersoup is $1.7 and the catfish on it is very big. Here are some pictures that I took.

I have been to this spot before, but it was about 3 years ago, and I can remember that I went out with @olujay and one other friend to this spot. From the last time, I cannot recollect if the fish I ate that day was this big.

When I saw the fish, I said, oh my! This is definitely worth the price. I could remember paying more than $2 for a catfish pepper soup some months ago and the fish I found was not even up to half this size.

When my friend and I started eating, we first thought we might not be able to finish the catfish pepper soup, but after we started, we finished it before our eyes. In fact, I was filled.

We left the place and I headed home. When I got home, a neighbour came around to offer me a plate of snails that she cooked. I had stared eating it before I took a picture. It was so good. It was the perfect meal for the night.

Yesterday was amazing because I didn't have to worry what to eat. My morning, afternoon and night meals were guided by my friends. Right now, I wish every day could be like this.
