Solberg jr tested with Hyundai ahead of WRC Rally Sweden 2022

Swedish youngster Oliver Solberg was part of the recently finished motorsport event called ROC or Race of Champions which is held every year for the top drivers from various championships.

This year there were Sebastien Vettel, Sebastien Loeb, Petter Solberg, Oliver Solberg etc.Loeb again showed who is the boss beating them all. But both Solbergs, Petter and OLiver won the Race of Champions Nations Cup and that was kinda boost for the youngster. What I liked the most about that is that cars were purely electric and in some motorsport domains it should be like that. We must think about green as much as we can.

But before that race, Oliver Solberg, now as part of the Hyundai World Rally Team squad, tested in his native Sweden. He could choose the nationality because his father is Norwegian and his mother is Swedish and he chose Swedish nationality. Snow is his naturally born surface for driving so it is expected from him to excel there.

He is still a learner so there is no point to expect from him much as from Hyundai's top guns Thierry Neuville or Ott Tanak. But Solberg jr could be a dark horse if he will have the rally of his life. I would expect top 5 from him but anything is possible there because it is a specialized event.

I think that his team expects much more from him after a strange retirement at Monte Carlo Rallye last month. It was really stupid to put him in the car for Monte anyway when they have super strong, reliable and experienced Dani Sordo who finished on the podium many times at Monte.
