FIA approved non-hybrid Rally1 cars for 2024
Hi, friends!
It seems that FIA wants to make top class Rally1 cars to the private drivers so they allowed for privateers to run the Rally1 cars, which are top class in rallying, without a hybrid which boosts the enhine power up to 550bhp.
This way the cars will have around 400bhp which is good and still much more then Rally2 cars which have around 300bhp.
I think that this way FIA tried to help M-Sport Ford team which is a semi-private team to sell easier their cars and that way fimance their WRC program.
M-Sport team owner Malcolm Wilson revealed earlier that they need to sell ten Rally1 cars per season to finance their program regularly. We will see shortly how much private drivers will opt for this because tgey won't be able to score points in WRC with this kind of machinery.
