BREAKING NEWS: Craig Breen signs two year deal with M-Sport Ford WRC team

I heard lots of things but I thought that Andreas Mikkelsen should be the one to sign with M-Sport Ford World Rally Team but I was kinda wrong.

It's still very open for other drivers there but Adrien Fourmaux should be 100% sure because they gave him the car to test with and that's a sign of confidence for the mutual future.

Gus Greensmith should still pay for a drive and that's it - three WRC seats occupied. Where then Mikkelsen can go? No one can say at the moment but I heard that there is still open 4th seat at M-Sport Ford and if he brings the budget, that car could be his.

It's sick to pay millions of euros and after the season you have nothing if it will be a failed season. And in sport, especially motorsport, anything can be.

But we are here to say that Irishman Craig Breen had some descent results this season and he got the contract with M-Sport Ford on a two year agreement and that's what Breen was asking for. He wanted a full season on a two year deal to try to win the championship. First season for learning the car and team and second one to go all or nothing approach.

He showed at Hyundai that he can fight for a podium positions but they couldn't guaranty him a full season deal. That's why he left the team.

I don't see M-Sport Ford stronger then Hyundai or Toyota. Their strength is a new car and whenever they had a new car on the regulations, they were always fast and successful.

Do I see them as a potential winners next season?
No, I don't see them as a winners next season but they could take lights from time to time. The thing is that in motorsport is all about the money at the moment and Toyota and Hyundai are so powerful at finances that they invest so much into the testing and M-Sport Ford didn't test at all before last gravel rally in Finland. That's bad approach.

I mean, you must test ahead of the rally if you are a World Rally Team and if you want some results.

They should also sign Mikkelsen and then this would be a team to take seriously. Two other guys - Fourmaux and Greensmith should drive to collect knowledge and experience and maybe bring the private money to the team (Greensmith).
