Mey-Yii’s Grandma Is A Pain In The Butt 🍑 But I Have One Nice Neighbor 🤝
My neighbor started taking our two daughters to school on the first of this month in his car. We agreed to give him $ 200 a month. Now my husband has more time to rest but also more work to pay for the car. Two week ago, I went to Mey Yii's house to tell her grandmother that on the first day, my husband did not take Mey Yii to school anymore. Because I hired Mr. Nith to take my daughters go to school.
If you agree, I can ask him to ride Mey Yii to school with my daughters too, but I need to ask you first because you are a grandmother and a guardian of Mey Yii. She reply to me very fast that, no,no, I do not want to be involved with them, if your husband stopped taking the kids to school and my granddaughter I will to make her stopped going to school, and even if she study, she could not be a duke.
When I hear this, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I am overwhelmed that I have good intentions, I want the child to go to school, and this child is nothing to me. But her grandmother did not care about her. I’m not happy but I need replied to her with a gentle word that, I just want Mey Yii to learn and read, that’s to make her future is better but if you said like that, I have no words to say. I tried to smile and I say goodbye to her. That day, Mey Yii’s mother also over there and she came for visit her a week before already. She did not talk to me, not even a word. Mey Yii’s mother just cares about her phone.
It makes me realize that no matter how good I do, it does not mean to them that they do not know how to be human. When I got home, I told my husband about everything and I told him I did not want to do anything with this girl because her family did not care about her future and I was tired. I do not feel wrong because I have already helped, but Grandma Met Yii and her mom does not want us to help or care of theirs kid. Because of their selfishness, there is hatred for the family who drove my child to school.
Two days ago, Mey Yii took her brother and sister, who are children with her stepfather, to visit us for a while. It’s a long time ago, she doesn’t visit us because her mom stay with her now. I asked her, your mom came stay with you forever or just for visit you? She said her mom live with her until her grandma leg is better. I still thinking about her but I can’t do like before.
My two daughters are enjoyed riding a car to school and it’s fast to school more than rides our Tuk-Tuk. I wake up at 5 in the morning, cook breakfast and put boxes for them to take to school, but sometimes they eat at home, not at school.
After this man took our daughter for 4 days, Mey Yii's grandmother let her husband call to this man for took her granddaughter to school and gave him $ 25 a month. But the driver said that if Mey Yii's mother or grandmother did not come to tell him directly, he would not take Mey Yii to school. He is not mean to children, but he does not like big humans who do not know the ways of adults.
These two family’s stories are very messy and a lot of drama and I always hear bad things about them. Because the mother-in-law of the man who drove the car is the first wife and Mey Yii’s grandma is the second wife. Therefore, problems always occur incessantly. I do not understand Mey Yii's grandmother, when I asked her about the free transportation, she did not agree to let the child go to school, but wanted to let the child later. But I hope this kid can go to school.

We see similar problems with Education in children up here in Nunavut, Canada. Parents do not understand that School isn't about making you a "Duke or Dutchess" it's about filling your personal toolbox with a bunch of skills that you can apply later in life to your work or home life.

Some people are impossible to understand ( why they act the way they do ). It's usually a repeated pattern, ( trauma ) passed from generation on generation. I hope that Mey-Yii finds a way to break that pattern. The love that your family has given her might help with that.

It is very difficult to change her grandmother, and as a child, when living with a grandmother who has such a character since she was born, so it is normal that she has the same stubbornness as her grandmother. When she stayed home with us I tried to talk and teach her something but now she stopped come back our house. I thought, her grandma don’t let her visit us because I used to asked her and she did not reply to me but I feel it.

However, I really like your words "big humans who do not know the ways of adults." That is exactly the case, in my opinion, an excellent description. Just because someone is over 18 does not make them adults automatically. They have to ACT like adults, and take responsibility for themselves, and those they are responsible for (their children, their dogs, even their trash). In this sense, even a young person under 18 should be seen as an adult, who are responsible and reasonable humans. - Like your daughters seem to be! 😄
