Touchdown Suvarnabhumi - Thailand Travel | Hello BKK

Hey Hivers! How's it been? I was quite busy the whole week. I hope you are all doing fantastic. Here’s the next part.

So I arrived in Bangkok at 7 in the morning , almost 8. I felt a little dizzy, possibly due to the travel and time zone change; yes, jet lag. My father was awake too. I messaged him and updated. I am also giving credit to him for the tips and do’s and don’ts from baggage, to travel , to immigration, and hacks on tumblr and drinking water. Lol.

I was in awe of the happenings but kept my cool. For my first time traveling abroad, I took note of the one person seated beside me. I lowkey followed her where she was going. Well, everyone was going the same direction, but I focused on her. Going to immigration. I was also checking and reading signs. I fell in line and when it was my turn, the officer asked me how long I was staying and then asked me to take off my mask for scanning and biometrics. See, it's so easy to get in but so hard to get out of the country. Anyways, my father also said that when entering another country, it’ll just be quick and easy because they need tourists for their economic growth. Why asks a lot and gives us a hard time, right?

I sat at the benches near the baggage claim counters. I messaged my father and also updated my partner that I had already arrived. (Yeah, we planned to meet in Thailand too. Yayyy) His arrival is at 2 in the afternoon. But I planned to wait for him so we could go to our hotel together (the real booked hotel).

I took the chance of waiting by ordering food and ate. Damn, I was so full. After all that nervousness from PH to BKK, all gone. Pat pat on the shoulders for making it, I deserved food. Lol. I watched the series, strolled around the airport, went up and down, and took pictures. Of course, my heart was filled with happiness as I enjoyed watching how the architecture of Suvarnabhumi Airport was. There was ongoing construction or some kind of maintenance, but still, the structure was awesome. I didn’t want to ask people to take pictures of me, so what I did was set a timer! Haha, yeah "sariling sikap" as we say it.

As the time came near, I freshened up and waited for him. Then, tadaa, we met and hugged. Finally, after years of waiting, this is a plus for my graduation gift. Lol. We then proceeded to Gate 4, where staff from our pre-booked hotel awaited us. We approached and looked for our names. The staff asked us to wait while they got our ride to the hotel ready. We talked and waited.

We got our ride. I also kept my father updated all throughout my journey in Thailand.

There were only two of us in the big van. Our hotel was just 5–10 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport, which was great because it was just nearby. We booked it from Agoda. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk was manned by a Filipino. Hello, kabayan! Hehe. She welcomed us and we spoke Tagalog. I'm not really good at Tagalog that's why I had to mix it with English. We had our key cards and requested a vegetarian breakfast meal for the next day.

(

After settling in our room, getting changed, and recharging, we ordered food to eat.

Our view from our room's balcony

We only stayed there for a night because we have to travel again tomorrow, going to Surat Thani via Don Mueang Airport (an hour or so away from our hotel stay) and then ferry going to Koh Phangan. The hotel was nice, had great service, and had a pool as well. Their restaurant was still closed because they had just finished reopening after the lockdown, so everything from food to drinks was only available through room service at the time. We also booked it again for our last two days in Bangkok. It is really convenient for its location. The hotel is also a walking distance to food parks, markets, clubs, and a 24-hour convenience store.

We woke up early the next day, took a bath, and received our breakfast at around 8 in the morning. We prepared our things and checked if everything was in our bags and luggage. We went down to the lobby at around ten , checked out and got the staff to call a taxi going to Don Mueang Airport. It costs 500Baht (14USD) for one way going there, an hour's travel.

Our breakfast. Nomnom

When we reached there, we went to the airline that we had booked our tickets for and did our check-in. Our boarding time was supposed to be at 12 NN but it was delayed and moved to 1 p.m. So we waited at the boarding gate, and my partner brought some food and drinks.

The flight was an hour or so, and I slept throughout the flight.

Thank you for taking the time to read up until here. It's greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for the next part. And my apologies if I'm able to post again after some days. I get busy at my internship on weekdays. So yeah, thank you, hivers, for understanding too. Until the next blog about my Thailand travels. All the best!
