Once It Ticks, It's Lost Forever
We've all got the same 24hours across the clock, the only difference as to what we achieve with them depends on how well we planned ourselves.
It's a popular saying that failure to plan is planning to fail and it's way too common that people joke about it and fail to see the message it sends across.
Time remains a crucial factor in life in the sense that it is one of the few things in life that can never be ever recovered.
Once it ticks, it's lost forever
Once lost, it's lost forever.
There's nothing like paying for a wasted time saying that makes us feel good but in reality anytime lost is lost forever.
It's Storytime....
It happened in my 2nd year of studies at the University when I bought my laptop..... It's been a dream to have my own football games and as such I didn't waste time installing that.
I literally forgot I was a student and played games day in day out....
I will set an alarm of when to stop and when the alarm rings, it will seem to be that it was the time I set to start, hehehe, and before you could know it, it was time for my exams and then, there I was unprepared.
As a result of that, I had to read literally like a madman barely having time for my meals. I was trying to pay for my wasted time and it wasn't funny I must say.
For whatever that doesn't kill us makes us stronger and for whatever makes us stronger, if we be men of wisdom, will learn a lesson or two from that.
My experience was not funny and I was lucky to have passed that exam because I couldn't finish the scheme I was meant to cover before the exam even though I was reading vigorously, but then, time mismanagement already was taking tolls on me.
For the lessons learnt:
- There's time for everything in the world:
This was the first lesson I learnt. It's not a bad thing to play games and cool off the stress of reading once in a while but then just like the sentence implied, it's cooling off stress which means you have done something meaningful for the day to come cool off from and not playing games all day long.
If I had read in the morning hours and then played games at night, that would have been a proper way to manage my time and avoid the stress I had to go through when the exam was near.
- Self-discipline:
This is a great virtue that is always neglected but everyone really needs to develop this.
Self-discipline will enable you make good use of your time because it will make you know when to start and when to stop.
When you are able to control yourself that much, then you will do well in whatever you do.
Just like in my case that I will always set alarm on when to stop and will happily exceed the time I set when the alarm rings and I ended up suffering for that.
- Making plans:
Nothing beats proper planning.
It makes you know the extent you've gone and helps you measure how progressive you are.
With a target in view, you would be pushed to bring out the best in you as it propels you to do the much you can at all times making judicious use of your time.
Thanks for reading through and remember to make good use of your time👍
Hehe... Thanks a lot
I appreciate
Exactly... That's why Self-discipline should be a rule number one when we want to achieve time management
Gkad to have you here
Your story is similar to mine, only difference was that mine wasn't games, it was programming 😆 I focused more on doing coding that I always lost track of time and it seriously affected my studies. Seeing my result for that semester made me realize I seriously need to start managing my time properly
I just read your entry few minutes ago, it's almost similar 😂
Well, we've learnt our lessons and I know we will do better by God's Grace
I enjoyed the story
And your experience is all too familiar. There are times where we have been or acted very irresponsible and managed time poorly. But at the end of the day, what matters is being able to recognize that and changing.
It' funny how most times, we know what we should be doing at a given time, but we choose to do something else. Well, at least you learnt some valuable lessons.
Nice work dear🌹
Hehe.... It's very surprising honestly but well, the problem is that we still do it in bits just that we don't repeat it with the same activities but well, we keep getting better everyday
Thanks fir reading and leaving a comment... I really appreciate ☺️
It's always a bit frustrating when you realised that you've been wasting time and now have to catch up on what needs to be done in the short time available. I've been there too a couple of times. Knowing that there's time for everything and acting accordingly is a great wisdom :)
Sure it is.
Thanks for visiting my blood and reading moreso, leaving a comment
I really appreciate
You're most welcome brother :)
