My Greatest Page-Turner Ever
The Rich have money work for them
No doubt we've come across many books ever since our existence as authors have been doing marvelously well in providing us with wonderful works all the time.
I am not left out in this as I've read a lot of books...I can't even guess a number as it would be running in millions, hehe
Books have really been an amazing company to me; they are also great source of transportation for me as I've travelled to various worlds even without setting foot on the country's soil.... It's an amazing gift to mankind honestly.
Regardless of the millions of books I've read, there was really a book that stood out... A book that found me rather than the other way round, hehehe.
It happened that I went to my Uncle's residence for holiday, he was a bachelor going out everyday for his daily work and only had time to spare on weekends.
In one of his working days, I was really bored (I had no phone and there was no light to watch movies). Amidst my boredom, I looked at the home theater and saw a book,
I had no plans to read, but then, I had nothing else to do so I decided to check it out....
The book I serendipitously discovered went far to be my best book till date...
The book that has been taking the spot as my favourite is no book other than..... Rich Dad Poor Dad and was written by an eminent author of our generation, Robert T. Kiyosaki in 1997.
A book I will read over and over again and yet won't get tired of reading it.... an intriguing one I know.
At first, I read the book and finished it within 2weeks... Such a slow reader I was, but then, I couldn't grasp the whole message from the book.
On one of the weekends, I discussed the book with my Uncle and that gave me a clearer view to understanding the book.
I went ahead to read it the second, third, fourth, Fifth and even the sixth time and guess what?
I will still read it any time I feel like without any complaint 😂
Maybe I love this book so much because I love money but hate stress and it teaches it a lot...
The book is about how to use money to make more money.... It's basically all about Finance.
It started with the author describing a young boy who many say he is the one, who was born to a poor family.
The father was a teacher who always taught about how to make money and worked so hard to make money but still ended up not attaining financial security.
Meanwhile, the boy had a friend who's dad he referred to as the rich dad and engaged him in various financial discussions.... He didn't keep thinking about money like the way his poor dad did but he was way richer than his poor dad.
The book was centered on the various discussion he had with his friend's dad, The Rich Dad.
The lessons given in the book is a great way to summarize what the book teaches... The Rich Dad gave the boy very important six (6) advices which are:
The Rich Don't Work for Money
Why Teach Financial Literacy
Mind Your Own Business
The History of Taxes and the Power of Corporations
The Rich Invent Money
Work to Learn Don't Work for Money
These are the powerful lessons to be learnt when you decide to see this great book.
Also, the book went further to teach me the difference between an asset and a liability with a striking statement that our homes is a liability.
Building a home anywhere is perceived as one of the greatest achievement anyone can make only for me to find out it's not an asset like I think... was indeed an argument for me to believe that but it became clearer. The book also taught me the need it was to make calculated risks... Not all risks are worth it, but then, there's are risks worth taking as far as building wealth through investing in assets and real estate investing are concerned.
It taught me also never to have a limit to my Financial dreams.. the only limit you have is yourself, but rather, seeking out financial opportunities and learning from my mistakes would be a better option... We're humans anyway.
It also taught me to be hopeful SPERO by helping me disregard the saying that, "the rich are born rich and will be rich while the poor are born poor and will be poor" because when you do the right things you should do, your Financial attainment have nothing to do with your poor background and you can attain the Financial security you desire.*
- Above all, the book taught me to have the right MINDSET.
in our world today were it seems like everything is all not going well, there are thousands of reasons why you think you will fail even before you start the fantastic idea you have in your mind... The environment as a whole seems to be against you attempting it, you could only survive when you have the right mindset.
Great wins indeed doesn't start from what we see physically; Great wins start from winning ourselves..... Our minds!!!
Poor Dad: Study hard so you can find a good company to work for
Rich Dad: Study hard so you can find a good company to buy
The two instructions above are really wonderful, but then, the goals are much different... That's what mindset does to our Goals... Limitless goals!!!
You must have read from one of my posts where I said, "Unless you make money work for you, you are not rich yet."
That was from this book and it sticked to me like a glue that I can't forget those lines, hehe.
The more I read about the book, the more it gets clearer to me.... Maybe that's why I never get tired of rereading it.
It has a lot to teach you only if you could make up your mind to pick it up... I recommend it to all and sundry.
Thanks for reading 👍
Thanks

Hehe, yes I saw that 😃
I’ve heard a lot if people talk about this book but I haven’t had the opportunity to read it.
Sometimes our mindset determines how far we go in life. We need to develop the mindset of being rich and working towards it and that’s why the rich still remain rich and aim for the best while the poor just try to find ways to feed themselves.
That's absolutely right... The poor has already placed a limitation for themselves whereas the rich sees themselves as limitless
I hope the story changes with time.
Hopefully it will
I feel like I'm the only one left who haven't read this book. Now I'm tempted to go find it at the nearest bookstore.
You really should... It's worth all your time
