Fear and Psychology

Fear is all about the mind.... Most times the things we are scared of are not something backed up with any spiritual or unexplainable factors but it is just that we have structured our mind to be scared of it whenever we hear it.
I think it gets better with growth as we tend to get answers to many things we thought were unexplainable.

I can't remember the last time I was really really terrified but there is one incident I can't seem to grow pass..... I was really terrified then.

What is The Story

It happened shortly after I entered secondary school, I was a boarding Student living in the school's dormitory.

There are these popular stories that fly during those periods, The Madam Koi Koi Story and The Baby Bush Story.
The first dealing with some imaginary woman entering the class and making noise with the heels of her shoe while The second story dealing with an imaginary baby abandoned in the bush crying for help and will eat you when you go to help
Such terrifying stories, jeez.

The problem with the storytellers of these stories is that they always tend to find ways to make them look real and back them up with some imaginary proofs and evidence about where it has happened before.

One of my classmates told me the Story and as usual, I had my doubts but since he cited some happenings, I just accepted it exists blatantly.

After a week or so, we were studying during the night prep hours as observed by the school when I fell asleep, the regulator rang the bell signifying prep over but I was too engrossed in my sleep... _{Sleep is very sweet yunno, lol.}

As devil may have it, none of my classmates remembered to wake me up and they all left to their rooms to sleep.
I continued sleeping till around 2am when I opened my eyes, there was no bulb light and my lantern's kerosene was finished, that was total darkness.

I was not scared at first but not long enough, the stories my friend told me flashed my mind and then I heard some imaginary footsteps and noise outside... It was all psychology as there was nothing there😂

I ran out of the class leaving my lantern and locker unlocked to the dormitory gate but unfortunately, the dormitory gate was already locked.

Everywhere and everything seems like something to be scared of and all that was remaining for me was to start crying till I remembered the chapel was always open and I ran to the chapel for solace.
The psychology that I am in the house of God automatically made me forget everything and I was calm again before I slept back till the next morning.

It takes courage and knowledge to reduce our fears as we will keep being afraid of even things that have scientific explanation when we are not knowledgeable.
