These Games
Hello, guys, how are you doing. I hope you are doing great and your day went very well too.
I would love to tell you about those games I played as a child and how they created bonds between us.
Childhood days are the period in someone's life when they play and have fun, make friends easily, and tend to forgive others when hurt and others.
During childhood, there were certain games I loved such as tic-tac-toe, football, and game of the intellectual (ayo) which in going to write about.
Tic-tac-toe is a game that involves two letters of the alphabet, X and O, and in the game, you don't need to have a winner, but as children, it was necessary that there must be a winner and I used to play it with my sister.
Tic-tac-toe is played with pen and paper, you draw two horizontal lines and two vertical lines intersecting the two horizontal lines on the paper. The first player starts with either X or O(his or her choice)but my sister preferred starting with X.
In the game, there are nine boxes formed from the intersection of the lines, with everyone aiming to be the winner.
The game aims to make the letter you are using be on one straight line, it might be horizontally, vertically, or diagonally and if you do so successfully, you emerge the winner.
I liked that game because it taught me how to be calculative in everything I do, be it academically, materially, and in other aspects of life.
Another game I liked in my childhood was Game of the Intellectual (ayo) and this one also needed calculations in other to be the winner.
Game of the intellectual(ayo) is a game with a carved wooden board with 12 holes and 48 seeds, with 4 seeds in each hole.
It is a game that is common among the Yorubas and is a game that needs much of your brain power and mathematical skills to win.
The objective of the game is to capture all your opponent's seeds and the first step is to pick your opponent's seeds, counter-clockwise till you capture your opponent's house if you win your opponent, three straight times, the loser bows out for a new player.
I love this game because it teaches me to be calculative and wise in all the doings of life.
Growing up was fun because of the times we shared as siblings and friends.
Childhood memories are always ones to be cherished, i am glad you had fun with these games
