Senderismo: 15 Km por valles y montañas de Aragua, Venezuela 🍃🚶🏻‍♀️ Hiking: 15 Km through the valleys and mountains of Aragua, Venezuela

Este sábado 20 de abril se realizó el 2do Encuentro de Caminantes y Senderistas Aragua 2024, ruta que partió desde las cercanías del peaje de la ciudad de La Victoria atravesando la zona industrial del sector La Mora y adentrándose luego entre valles y montañas, con una distancia de 15 Km.

This Saturday, April 20, the 2nd Meeting of Walkers and Hikers Aragua 2024 was held, a route that started from near the toll booth of the city of La Victoria, crossing the industrial zone of La Mora sector and then entering between valleys and mountains, with a distance of 15 km.

La convocatoria era a las 7:00 de la mañana, mi hermana y yo llegamos antes de esa hora, pero salimos casi a las 8:00, pocas veces los eventos son puntuales. No había tanta gente como pensaba, el año pasado también asistí y había muchas más personas.

The convocation was at 7:00 in the morning, my sister and I arrived before that time, but we left almost at 8:00, rarely events are punctual. There were not as many people as I thought, last year I also attended and there were many more people.

La primera parte del recorrido fue por asfalto, o lo que quedaba de él, porque está muy deteriorado, pasamos por varias industrias que hay aquí.

The first part of the hike was on asphalt, or what was left of it, because it is very deteriorated, we passed by several industries that are here.

Unos 15 minutos después ya estábamos caminando por una vía de tierra, por aquí hay varios sembradíos y cría de animales.

About 15 minutes later we were already walking on a dirt road, around here there are several crops and animal husbandry.

También son evidentes los estragos de los incendios que ha habido, provocados por la misma gente que quema desperdicios o cree que es bueno meterle candela a la vegetación seca.

Also evident are the ravages of the fires that have occurred, caused by the same people who burn waste or believe that it is good to set fire to dry vegetation.

Al menos también había verdor, no todo está perdido...

At least there was greenery too, all is not lost...

El clima estaba agradable, fresco, porque había nubosidad. En este punto yo me había adelantado y mi hermana estaba entretenida en algún lado tomando fotos 😄, no nos volvimos a encontrar hasta el final del recorrido, ya saben, cada quien va a su ritmo.

The weather was nice, cool, because it was cloudy. At this point I had gone ahead and my sister was busy somewhere taking pictures 😄, we didn't meet again until the end of the route, you know, everyone goes at their own pace.

Más adelante nos conseguimos con unas cuantas vacas y caballos, uno de ellos estaba muy flaco el pobre, se le veían las costillas, quizás estaba enfermo.

Further on we came across a few cows and horses, one of them was very skinny the poor thing, you could see his ribs, maybe he was sick.

La ruta continuó hacia un cerro, esta zona es conocida como Las Lapas, y el ascenso por aquí es bastante empinado.

The route continued to a hill, this area is known as Las Lapas, and the ascent here is quite steep.

Sin duda la recompensa son las increíbles vistas que vas teniendo a medida que subes: hermosos valles, montañas, la autopista y la ciudad a lo lejos.

Undoubtedly the reward is the incredible views as you climb: beautiful valleys, mountains, the highway and the city in the distance.

Llegué a la cima de este cerro y me provocaba quedarme un buen rato allí, había una brisa muy sabrosa.

I got to the top of this hill and it made me want to stay there for a while, there was a very nice breeze.

Pero no es bueno que se te enfríen los músculos cuando haces senderismo, entonces ¡a seguir! Había más zonas quemadas por aquí, afortunadamente ya han empezado las lluvias, que aliviarán esta situación.

But it's not good for your muscles to get cold when hiking, so let's keep going! There were more burned areas around here, fortunately the rains have already started, which will alleviate this situation.

El nivel de dificultad en la parte de la ruta que seguía era bajo, sólo había que tener cuidado porque el terreno es rocoso y con hojas secas por ahí, y te puedes tropezar o resbalar.

The level of difficulty on the part of the route that followed was low, you just had to be careful because the terrain is rocky and with dry leaves around, and you can trip or slip.

Aunque reseca, la hierba se veía espectacular por aquí, parecía cabello peinado por el viento.

Although parched, the grass looked spectacular here, it looked like wind-combed hair.

Ya íbamos en bajada, por ahí nos encontramos a unas personas que iban en bicicletas montañeras, no debe ser fácil.

We were already going downhill, and we met some people on mountain bikes, it must not be easy.

Poco después llegamos a una explanada, muchos aprovecharon para trotar por aquí.

Shortly after we arrived at an esplanade, many took the opportunity to jog around here.

Nuevamente apareció la quemazón, vegetación arrasada, me dio mucha pena ver un enorme árbol de mango así, pero creo que podrá recuperarse, tenía algunas partes verdes aún. Y más adelante unos hombres estaban quemando basura, conciencia cero.

Again the burn appeared, vegetation razed to the ground, I was very sad to see a huge mango tree like this, but I think it can recover, it still had some green parts. And further ahead some men were burning garbage, zero conscience.

Como no tengo ninguna aplicación para medir la distancia, no sé cuantos kilómetros llevaba ya, pero calculo que en este punto iban como 10.

As I don't have any app to measure the distance, I don't know how many kilometers I had already covered, but I estimate that at this point it was about 10.

Llegamos a una parte que debe tener un nombre pero no sé cuál es, aquí hay algunas casas y parcelas con sembradíos.

We arrive at a part that must have a name but I don't know what it is, here there are some houses and plots with crops.

La gente se había dispersado mucho a estas alturas, a veces no escuchaba a nadie detrás de mí, pero veía grupos delante de mí. Tocaba otro ascenso ahora, pero no tan empinado.

People had dispersed a lot at this point, sometimes I didn't hear anyone behind me, but I saw groups ahead of me. It was another climb now, but not as steep.

Esta vez la organización del evento sólo tuvo un punto de hidratación durante el recorrido, y estaba casi llegando al cerro donde se encuentra el Monumento de la Juventud, más o menos en el kilómetro 12 de la ruta, por eso yo siempre llevo mi agua, no hay que confiarse y pensar que te darán, porque es crítico quedarte sin el vital líquido en una caminata larga.

This time the organization of the event only had one hydration point during the hike, and it was almost reaching the hill where the Monumento de la Juventud (Monument of the Youth) is located, more or less at kilometer 12 of the route, so I always carry my water, you should not trust and think that they will give you, because it is critical to run out of the vital liquid in a long walk.

Al llegar al Monumento esperé un rato a ver si veía a mi hermana, pero nada, debe ser que iba muy atrás aún, entonces como el sol ya estaba fuerte, decidí seguir, sólo faltaban unos 3 Km.

When I got to the Monument I waited a while to see if I saw my sister, but nothing, it must be that she was still far behind, so as the sun was already strong, I decided to continue, there were only about 3 km to go.

Venía ahora una bajada bastante abrupta, menos mal que cargaba mi palo de bambú, es muy útil en estos casos, es como tu tercera pierna 😄, y más adelante atravesamos un bosquecito.

Now came a pretty steep descent, thank goodness I was carrying my bamboo stick, it's very useful in these cases, it's like your third leg 😄, and further on we went through a small forest.

La última parte del recorrido es por una zona llamada Los Pinos, desde donde se puede ver la zona industrial de La Victoria.

The last part of the hike is through an area called Los Pinos, from where you can see the industrial zone of La Victoria.

Me impactó ver lo quemado que estaba este lugar, ojalá se recupere pronto.

I was shocked to see how burned this place was, hopefully it will recover soon.

Al divisar la autopista, sabes que estás cerca de la meta, menos mal porque el sol estaba muy salvaje, sentías como un vapor subiendo del suelo.

When you spot the highway, you know you're close to the finish line, thank goodness because the sun was so wild, it felt like kind of steam rising from the ground.

Cuando eran poco más de las 11:00 de la mañana, llegué al final de la ruta, en la entrada del Monumento de la Juventud, me tomó unas tres horas completarla.

When it was a little after 11:00 a.m., I reached the end of the route, at the entrance of the Monument of the Youth, it took me about three hours to complete it.

Allí había un puesto con patilla (sandía), cambures (bananas) y naranjas para todos los participantes, además de agua, y también estaban haciendo bailoterapia para todo el que quisiera relajar los músculos. Yo hice un poco de estiramiento, agarré varios pedazos de patilla y me fui a sentar, suficiente ejercicio 😅. Mi hermana llegó como 20 minutos después y luego que ella se comió su fruta y descansó unos minutos, nos fuimos.

There was a stand with watermelon, bananas and oranges for all participants, plus water, and they were also doing dance therapy for anyone who wanted to relax the muscles. I did some stretching, grabbed several pieces of watermelon and went to sit down, enough exercise 😅. My sister arrived about 20 minutes later and after she ate her fruit and rested for a few minutes, we left.

Así terminó una aventura más de senderismo, espero les haya gustado y se animen a incorporar esta actividad en sus vidas, les garantizo que lo disfrutarán y se volverán adictos como yo 😃, la naturaleza siempre nos recarga positivamente.
