Welcoming in my blog...

Some people identify one of these species, namely the Citron Bug which belongs to the type of beetle, and people believe they are one of the beetle groups in the superfamily Curculionoidea and some are said to be Phyllobius pomaceus (Gyllenhal 1834), this is also often seen among other insect species that coexist with them. However, in our area this one species is often referred to as a weevils or foliage pests.

Today, I myself saw their very rapid development in one of the young plants, namely the kaffir lime plant which is still 4 months old. At first, when they had not mastered a test location, this kaffir lime plant looked beautiful, although development was very slow but it still looked beautiful and continued to live together with the green leaves which became its trademark.

At the age of 3 months looking very beautiful, but now entering the age of 4 months, young kaffir limes do not look beautiful or grow perfectly like a few months ago, because every part of the leaf looks damaged and looks very messy. Every part of the twig that was overgrown with hundreds of leaves was badly damaged, it was seen that every side of the leaf edge was torn.

This means that every part of the plant both inside and outside has been eaten by this one species, the unique way they destroy this part of the plant, on each side of the leaf and still leaves some leaves as their location for shelter and reproduction.

If you look at the plant from a distance, or as the location of the attack, it looks like it is still intact, but when you approach it, it turns out that the color that comes from its body blends with every leaf that has been bitten by them. So that the leaves that have been damaged are partially covered by their bodies.

Interestingly, if you look closer, it turns out that this month is the peak month of the development of this species, why? Because every part of the plant is good, the twigs, leaves, and some parts of the plant are filled with the phenomenon of breeding or carrying out a marriage ritual or intimate relationship.

This phenomenon, which is carried out by each species, is very closed so that it is difficult to see from a distance, so that anyone who wants to perpetuate their activities must be closer, so that all mating ritual activities are clearly visible.

Every branch of the kaffir lime plant has been damaged and leaves no leaves and it can be seen that their lives are in pairs, so it makes me interested to take photos of them. Some of the pictures are clearly visible and some cannot be uploaded in this post, because their activities are obscured by the dense leaves that have been damaged.

There are several couples who are doing wedding activities in several parts of the plant, to see more clearly, please see some of the photos that have been uploaded in this post. Here are some activities that have been carried out by several couples.

The different ways they carry out activities in each part of the park, of course, have several reasons for their presence here. Well ... To know about further developments, of course, will be conveyed again in a future post. Thank you very much for being willing and reading this post.
