Our Istanbul Trip - Panorama 1453, Balat and Paradise District [EN-TR]

Hello everyone. Today I am here with a new itinerary. As you know, the schools are closed and we have started the summer vacation. That's why we wanted to travel a little while the weather wasn't too hot. In this post, I will share with you some of my impressions from my trip to Istanbul, which I went with my wife a few days ago. I hope I have given you an idea for a new trip.

We started our previously planned trip by going to Yalova from Iznik on the morning of 30 June. From Yalova, we took the Sea Bus, which was the first experience for me, and went to Istanbul. Although the Sea Bus looks like a ferry, it is much larger than a ferry in terms of size. This journey took about 1 hour and 20 minutes and was quite enjoyable. Afterwards, we reached Istanbul Yenikapı and left our luggage at the hotel where we were staying and started our trip.

First we went to Istanbul Panorama 1453 History Museum. This museum was established in accordance with its purpose, right next to the historical walls and historical gate of Istanbul. Although there is a fee to enter the museum, the atmosphere inside is great. It has a semi-circular dome, and the three-dimensional conquest animation made at an angle of 180 takes you back to those days.

After visiting Panorama, we stopped by Merkezefendi Mosque, a historical mosque nearby. This was a very beautiful mosque, although not as much as the Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque.

And another mosque. Mihrimah Sultan mosque. There are legends about this mosque. According to rumors, Mimar Sinan, who was in his 40s or 50s at that time, fell in love with Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. And he reflects this love to this mosque with its perfect architecture.

Then we went to Balat, where the historical houses of Istanbul are located. Balat used to be a region where Armenian citizens lived, but now it seems to have been subjected to the flow of Syrian refugees, just like everywhere else in Istanbul.

But the most meaningful thing for me in Balat was seeing the neighborhood of Paradise. The comedy series, which was broadcast under the name 'Cennet Mahallesi' between 2004-2007 and which I watched very fondly, was shot here. Seeing this place almost took me back to my childhood, when there was more kindness and we could laugh more as a nation, and I was very touched.

Herkese Merhaba. Bugün yeni bir gezi rotasıyla karşınızdayım. Malum okullar kapandı ve biz de yaz tatiline başladık. Bu yüzden havalar da daha çok ısınmamışken biraz gezmek istedik. Bu paylaşımımda birkaç gün önce eşimle beraber gittiğim İstanbul seyahatimden bazı izlenimlerimi sizlerle paylaşacağım. Umarım size yeni bir seyahat için fikir vermiş olurum.

Daha önceden planladığımız seyahatimize 30 haziran sabahı İznik'ten Yalova'ya giderek başladık. Yalova'dan ise benim için ilk deneyim olan Deniz Otobüsü'ne binerek İstanbul'a geçtik. Deniz Otobüsü vapura benzese de boyut olarak vapurdan bir hayli büyük bir araç. Bu yolculuğumuz yaklaşık 1 saat 20 dakika sürdü ve oldukça keyifliydi. Sonrasında İstanbul Yenikapı'ya ulaştık ve konaklayacağımız otele valizimizi bırakıp gezimizi başlattık.

Önce İstanbul Panorama 1453 Tarih müzesine gittik. Bu müze amacına uygun olarak, tam da İstanbul'un tarihi surlarının ve tarihi kapısının yakınına kurulmuş. Müzeye giriş ücretli olsa da içerideki atmosfer harika. Yarım daire şeklinde yapılan bir kubbesi var ve 180 derecelik açıyla yapılan üç boyutlu fetih canlandırması sizi adeta o günlere götürüyor.

Panorama'yı gezdikten sonra yakınlarda bulunan ve tarihi bir cami olan Merkezefendi Camii'ne uğradık. Burası da Ayasofya veya Sultanahmet camileri kadar olmasa da oldukça güzel bir camiydi.

Ve bir cami daha. Mihrimah Sultan camisi. Bu cami hakkında efsaneler vardır. Rivayete göre o zamanlarda 40 veya 50'li yaşlarda olan Mimar Sinan, Padişah Kanuni Sultan Süleyman'ın kızı Mihrimah Sultan'a aşık olur. Ve bu aşkını Mükemmel mimarisiyle bu camiye yansıtır.

Daha sonra İstanbul'un tarihi evlerinin bulunduğu Balat'a geçtik. Balat, Eskiden Ermeni vatandaşların oturduğu bir bölgeymiş fakat şimdilerde İstanbul'un her yerinde olduğu gibi Suriyeli mülteci akımına uğramış gözüküyor.

Fakat Balatta benim için en anlamlı olan Cennet mahallesini görmüş olmaktı. 2004-2007 arasında 'Cennet Mahallesi' adıyla yayınlanan ve benim de çok severek izlediğim komedi dizisi burada çekilmişti. Burayı görmek adeta beni daha çok iyiliğin olduğu ve millet olarak daha çok gülebildiğimiz çocukluk yıllarıma götürdü ve çok da duygulandım.

Çok fazla yorulduğumuz gezimizin birinci gününü böylelikle dopdolu geçirdik. Ve 2. günde görüşmek üzere. 🙋‍♂️
