Hello everyone. Yesterday, after a very long and tiring journey, we arrived in Amasya, our first stop. We went to the hotel where we were going to stay, rested a little bit and immediately went to the city centre, which I couldn't wait to see.

Since it was my first time in the city, we first looked for a place to park our car for a while. Our aim was to find a car park in a central place close to the places we would visit. We left our car in the first space we found and immediately went to the clock tower of Amasya. We took photos here and walked a little on the Lovers walking path by Yeşilırmak. After a little bit we came across the Low Bridge. Although there are many bridges in Amasya, I learnt that the Low Bridge is the most special one among them.

According to the information inscription on the bridge, this bridge is called Low Bridge:
It was built over the Yeşilırmak River (Iris in ancient times) in the 2nd century AD during the Roman Period to connect Amasya Castle with the neighbourhoods to the south. The bridge built of cut stone has four eyes. However, as a result of the filling of the Yeşilırmak bed over time, the arches of the bridge remained at the river level, so the bridge was called "Low Bridge". In 1882, Amasya Sanjak Bey Atıf Bey built the piers on the ancient bridge arches using spolia stones and a wooden bridge was built on it.

After crossing the bridge, we came across a strange statue on the roadside. This statue depicted a man from the past. He was wearing a robe, a turban on his head and a bushy beard. But there was something strange about this statue. The statue was taking a selfie. What was even more interesting and funny was that the phone in the statue's hand was a push-button phone and the phone had no camera.😀

Afterwards, we went to a high place where we could watch Amasya from a bird's eye view. After watching the view here for a while, we realised that the frost of the night was in our bones and we returned to our hotel.

Herkese merhaba. Dün oldukça uzun ve yorucu bir yolculuk sonunda ilk durağımız olan Amasya’ya gelmiştik. Kalacağımız otele geçip biraz dinlendik ve hemen görmek için sabırsızlandığım şehir merkezine geçtik.

İlk defa geldiğim bir şehir olduğu için önce bir süre aracımızı park edeceğimiz bir yer aradık. Amacımız gezeceğimiz yerlere yakın merkezi bir yerde otopark bulabilmekti. Bulduğumuz ilk boşluğa aracımızı bırakıp hemen Amasya saat kulesinin yanına gittik. Burada fotoğraf çekip Yeşilırmak kenarındaki Aşıklar yürüyüş yolunda biraz yürüdük. Biraz ilerledikten sonra karşımıza Alçak Köprü çıktı. Amasya’da birçok köprü olmasına rağmen içlerinde en özelinin Alçak Köprü olduğunu öğrendim.

Köprü üzerindeki bilgilendirme yazısına göre bu köprüye Alçak Köprü:
Roma Döneminde M.S 2. yüzyılda Amasya Kalesi ile güneydeki karşı mahalleleri birbirine bağlamak için Yeşilırmak (antik dönemdeki ismi İris) Nehri üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Kesme taştan inşanedilen köprü dört gözlüdür. Ancak zamanla Yeşilırmak yatağının dolması sonucunda köprünün kemerleri ırmak seviyesinde kalması sebebiyle köprü “Alçak Köprü” olarak adlandırılmıştır. Amasya Sancak Beyi Atıf Bey tarafından 1882 yılında antik dönem köprü kemerleri üzerine devşirme taşlarda kullanılarak ayaklar inşa edilmiş ve üzerine ahşap köprü yapılmıştır.

Köprüyü geçtikten sonra yol kenarında karşımıza garip bir heykel çıktı. Öyle ki bu heykel geçmiş dönemlerden kalan bir adamı tasvir ediyordu. Üzerinde kaftanı, başında sarığı ve gür sakalları vardı. Fakat bu heykelde bir gariplik vardı. Heykel selfie çekiyordu. Daha da ilginç ve komik olan tarafı ise heykelin elindeki telefon tuşlu bir telefondu ve telefonun kamerası yoktu. 😀

Sonrasında ise Amasya’yı kuş bakışı seyredebileceğimiz yüksek bir yere çıktık. Burada da da bir süre manzara seyrettikten sonra gecenin ayazının iliklerimize kadar hissettiğini farkettik ve otelimize döndük.
