Multiple uses for everything possible is a prepping must!
A good prepping goal is to include storage items that can be used for as many different things as possible!
Here is one example:
This is a mix of about 15 different beans / legumes, that I call Calico beans. They make a stunning baked bean dish, as well as excellent chili! So I have a lot of this in storage for yummies.
Now to the point of this article, the alternate uses. The most obvious is seeds... multiple different types of seeds; for multiple different crops. Ground up, these beans can make a tasty flour.
Then we have the container itself, since it is vacuum sealed, the lid is still fully functional for canning. After canning use, it can be reused for dried storage or fermentation. With a floating wick and some oil, it makes a good light source; that can be extinguished, by simply closing the lid. Finally, it makes an excellent kitchen canister!
The ring will be treasured, to use on the next new lid; as it will last for decades. Tattler lids also require this same ring, so treat these rings with respect. They may become a barter item....
Thank you for being concerned of the future food shortage. Good people are made of this. There some bean variety that are here and I can't see their seeds variety among your collection while there are some that I have never seen before.

There are certainly a lot of seed types in here, but I'm hoping I don't need them for seeds! It's a backup plan....

Jesus already knew this and prayed for us before hand knowing all this was going to occur. I always ask whether people like Putin have advisers. There nothing that cant be handled without dialogue I believe. I recall my late dad would persuade people ready to kill after a crime.
Thankfully he did pray for our survival, and touched GOD's heart! 💗💗
Putin does have advisors, sadly most are possessed; which makes their advice dangerous! 👹👹👹👎
Dialog is difficult with people that are insane. I have tried with liberals, before I left Facebook; and it was a wasted effort! Those in charge who are possessed, have blinded their minions to truths. This difference of opinion, and their refusal to leave others in peace; will cause blood in the streets!
Many who don't believe in violence, will be forced to protect their own using violence, soon!

Mason jars and new lids/seals may be invaluable in years to come. Even now in relatively good times, they're a safe, secure, and durable storage options without the offgassing concerns of plastics and nigh invulnerable to pests, water, or corrosion.
True, and with the tattler lids; the lid lasts decades. People that have trouble with them, haven't read the instructions. I've had good results, but I still have a lot of regular lids stored too. I plan to can for me with the tattler lids, and for barter with the disposables.
I am thinking about canning butter. I haven't done so before, but it sounds like a good idea. 🧈🧈🧈
But canning jars always provide the possibility to explore!
I have considered building an Edison battery in one, might be fun....🔋🔋🔋
