I went to the largest gun show in the world today.
Here in Tulsa, they have a gun show twice a year; that is the largest gun show anywhere!
It looks like this inside:
This is from the middle of the building, and shows a little over 5 acres on the lower half; on the south side!
Here's the rest of the lower half:
My camera just can't catch it all in one picture! This is the North side of the lower east end.
Here is the top side from the north west corner:
This is the additional 6 acres half, on the top of west end of the building. This half is where I did all my shopping, found all I needed before going down the ramp to the lower half.
I bought a few things:
1000 rounds of 5.56, a couple of ammo cans (I seem to keep filling them), found 2 boxes of .357, 6 Glock mags (33 rounds), one AR9 magazine adapter, a new backpack, and my neighbor found a Tarus 9mm. I was looking for a 50 calibre flint lock rifle, but they wanted $2000 for the least expensive one! Gonna have to build one....
Here's the reason I say this is the largest in the World:
Simply because it is, ROFLOL!
The reason is the building itself:
It is 3/8th of a mile long, and is cable supported, outside like a cable span bridge; so the inside has no central supports!
Construction that was contested when it was designed:
This is the cable on one external support beam! There were a lot of questions about wether this building would stand up to local storms. Those questions have now been answered, the architect sure new his stuff!
I got a really good parking spot:
We only had to walk a quarter mile to the front door... LOL! Now you know why I brought the 3 wheel gun caddy to carry the purchased ammunition!
This building was originally the IPE center, so they put the free standing statue in front called the Golden Driller:
The IPE (International Petroleum Exposition) was built when Tulsa was still the Oil Capitol of the World! They used the immense building to set up oil field equipment for sale, as it would be set up in the field! The golden driller fell into disrepair after the IPE moved, but Tulsa has redone him and and fully restored him!
Here is a perspective shot:
This is his shoe, with someone leaning against it to rest a little! He's a Big boy....
It was a good run, and I found some real deals. It was a solid 5 mile hike LOL!
If you're in Tulsa next year In early April, try to come. It's only $10! But be ready to Walk a lot, because there is 11 acres of concrete under this roof!
It was a good day! I'm glad I brought the rifle caddy...those wheels worked hard under the ammunition etc.
That is a huge place, full of man toys, ROFLOL!
👍💲🏹💗💙💵🤠😆
Only a thousand rounds of 556? Didn't you get my message, I need three thousand. Oh well, maybe next year.
No problem, I'll text you a few thousand, ROFLOL!
5.56 is fun, but I rely on larger cartridges. I like to grab a case when I find a good price. 💙👍😆
I need to get a 22 Long Rifle conversion kit, to use for training. Forgot to look for one yesterday, SMH!
I noticed that the vendors with parts were few, and badly stocked; but time kept me from seeing only about half. It's a damn big place....
I noticed a lot more vendors selling ammunition there, but not as many selling reloading supplies.
I was stunned at the prices on the flint lock rifles! The one I have almost done, lacks a barrel. I better start looking for some octagonal steel to make that barrel. Should be fun to rifle it!
👍😆💙🤠💲💗💵💲
Do you think the vendors have been cleaned out by other buyers elsewhere or the stock isn't available in the first place?
The local shops have reloading powder for about $50; while at this show, they wanted $30 more per pound. I think they just brought the items they make the most selling.
There did seen to be a primer inventory problem. I noticed the 100 pack of primers are in the ten dollar range, where they used to be under two dollars!
Fortunately, I've prepped for reloading....
😳🤕🥵💵💲😭
It looks like prepper heaven to me. lol
I've never been to a gun show, sadly enough. Would love to go one day!
They had several booths that sold freeze dried food, and one that was first aid supplies that I saw. I'm sure there were more...and one that was all fire starters.
There were more Ladies there buying firearms this time, that's a good change!
💗👍🤠😁😳⛑️💲
