The flush handles are on the right here, maybe they take after the side of the road we drive on? 😀

hahahaha, somehow that makes sense, you must have shitty drivers, too. Wait, don't you drive on the left side?

HAHAHA....What were my ancestors thinking when they said our driving will be different from where they came from, was it a screw you thing? Wait, they didn't have cars when they came here on the Mayflower, so it was a screw you thing.
I had to google the reason

Americans drive on the right side of the road for a combination of reasons, including custom, law, and other factors:

Custom
In early America, the Conestoga wagon, a large freight hauler invented around 1750, changed the rules of the road. Drivers would walk to the left of the team to use their right hand to work the whip and their left hand for the reins. They would also sit on the right side of the wagon to avoid driving into a ditch.

Law
In 1804, New York became the first state to require right-hand travel on all public highways, and by the Civil War, all states followed.

Other factors
Other factors that may have contributed to right-side driving include:
Right-hand dominance: Most people are right-hand dominant. In Ancient Rome, drivers would drive on the left side of the road so they could use their right hand to whip the horse while keeping their left hand free to avoid accidentally whipping a passing chariot.
Henry Ford: In 1908, Ford Motor Co. put the steering wheel on the left side of the Model T, which was very popular. This meant that drivers had to drive on the right side of the road so that passengers could exit the car onto the curb.
