Wednesday Walk - Signs of Spring
Here is a warm winter walk for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
It already feels like summer here as we had an unusually warm winter day. Everyone was out walking so we decided to do the same by visiting a local arboretum. Here is an art installation made out of twigs and branches that looks a bit like a shaman put it together to ward off the modern world.
The other art installations around here aren't quite as classy. This one reminds me of a styrofoam head you would buy at an arts and crafts store. This poor guy had to wait for his wife to take a million photos of it while he checked his bitcoin wallet.
My wife and I prefer to go away from all the main areas of the arboretum. We head out into the wild areas and we found a nice little pine cone alter. Now a squirrel just needs to be sacrificed to appease the gods.
With warm weather come the bugs. Clouds of gnats are starting to show up and this should bring the flycatchers back soon too.
All kinds of greenery is starting to show up on the forest floor too. I have no ideas what these things are but I suspect they will grow into some kind of towering weed.
Flowers are showing up too. I have yet to see any snowdrops as this year was light on snow, but all the rest of the wildflowers seem to be doing fine.
Here is a dead tree with all sorts of sap coming out of it. Perhaps those horrible emerald ash borers did this to it.
At least dead trees provide nice stashing spots for acorns. This is probably some chipmunk hideout that was used during the worst part of winter. Looks like he ate his whole larder.
I think this might be some kind of warbler nest from last year. Perhaps if it gets reinforced a bit warblers this year can just move in. Buds are already appearing on all the trees and I'm starting to feel my tree pollen allergies arriving...
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
That art piece with the sticks is outstanding. I have never seen anything created like that before. Spring is showing up all over my yard. I got a lot of my gardens cleaned out after seeing all the bulbs trying to burst through the dead leaves. Now, hopefully, the weather will stay fairly warm since the trees are budding already. Have a wonderful week.
I can only imagine what a tangled mess it would have been to create it, nope this branch is not the right shape... Find me another. The bulbs are finally emerging here as well.
I think those pretty blue flowers are Siberian Squill. I get this kind of vibe from the first picture.
This was generated by AI by somebody else. Not my image.
I'll have to get a side view of that sculpture. It looks way better that way but my wife was zooming the stroller so I had to catch up lol.
Fantastically beautiful photos! I feel that spring is coming, but it still seems to hesitate...
Plot twist... The Ice Age arrives this summer...
finally spring is back
And maybe I can finally start mushroom hunting again. But they are predicting a dry year so maybe the mushrooms will be scarce, womp.
Last year we didn't have any. This year, it also smells like fir.
Fire with rain later on is good for mushrooms.

Thanks, they might switch out the structures this year to something else. Who knows what the new theme will be.
How are you dear friend @sketch.and.jam good morning, you have a beautiful place to walk close to nature
What a strange work of art, although not as striking as the first photograph.
It is beautiful to see the signs of spring, beautiful flowers, birds' nests, although the heat brings with it, the annoying mosquitoes
Beautiful photographs, I appreciate you sharing with us.
Have a happy Wednesday walk.
Spring is my favorite season but the allergies usually get me. I'll have to look for mor of the art installations next time.
Thanks again @ackhoo :-)
We had some nice days but its cooling down again spring is struggling to arrive but seems you have lots of spring growth there
I think that first art peice is so cool, but that second one i agree no so impressed by it
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Have a great day :)
Its been a really nice and mild winter here. I suspect it will be dry this spring and summer though just in time for the cicada invasion.
The winter this year really is calm, hehe
At least I could sleep without a heavy jacket
There are signs of the summer coming with the visit of heat from time to time now.
You guys had a nice time I can see
I love the first art piece. I have some reservations for that styrofoam head. The spring is creeping in gradually.
Lovely pictures of nature.

These are beautiful images. I love the first art work that looks like a shaman standing. At least, with the dead tree, it is still useful for the acorns.
I popped in here through #dreemport
Interesting walk, I love your photography, your shots are well detailed.

Hey, maybe it is time to undelegate FL? There is not much posts arriving; I would rather minimize curating efforts and time spent. ☘️ Thank you kindly for your support all the way, dear friend. 🙏
