Wednesday Walk - Lunch Break
Here is a usual walk in Chicago for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
Lately I've been trying to get subtle textures from downtown Chicago like this bronze mask on the side of a theater.
They also had a bronze lion.
Look at the ornamentation on this jewelry store.
Here is a really ornamental light. These few blocks are full of older bank buildings, off in the background you can see all the modern finacial buildings trading vaporware derivatives.
Now I made it to my destination. This was a lunch walk to Nandos, a restaurant that serves South African style chicken, quite good but it is quite a walk away. I snapped this picture of their hodge podge light collection above the register.
Now its back to work with my carryout lunch. All the old bank buildings have huge pillars on the outside. These buildings would be great subjects for pinhole photography.
Here's a 70s era bank building with kind of a boring style to it. The only interesting thing about it is the way it slopes gradually upward.
Now for a grimey parking lot with some elaborate street art.
Here are some owl patterns on the side of a hotel entry. Maybe the owls will scare away all the rats in the alleyway.
Now its time to head back home, oomph they changed the train schedules and now everyone gets packed onto one train.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
Dear @sketch.and.jam,

Thank you for your support @sketch.and.jam, really appreciate it! 👍
Without imposing and as we are in a renewal period for proposals, if you could take a look at the HiveBuzz Proposal Renewal - #248 as well 😁
Interesting captures. I love those bronze masks
I could easily do a whole post on all the bronze elwments in the city.
such cool details you came across onthe walk, all very interesting but my favorite has to be the peacock style doors
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
I wonder when those doors were made, maybe in the roaring 20s...
yeah they do look like they have been there a long time

Fun architectural details. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
The 70s were an ugly period for architecture. There are several buildings like that in Houston and New Orleans. Just bland, boring, unimaginative. Fortunately, they don't make 'em like that anymore either 😁
Stagflation will do that to architectural budgets. Bring back the roaring 20s for some better architecture.
you got cool pictures this wednesday.
Thanks, there are all sorts of nooks and crannies left to discover in the city.
yeah, the city always shows a beautiful building.
!PIMP 🕶
You must be killin' it out here!
@operahoser just slapped you with 5.000 PIMP, @sketch.and.jam.
You earned 5.000 PIMP for the strong hand.
They're getting a workout and slapped 2/2 possible people today.
Read about some PIMP Shit or Look for the PIMP District
Haha I think I saw a few pimps as I got closer to the banking district.
Wow, such great little details from downtown. Most won’t see…
Love the masks 🎭 very cool 😎
Thanks for sharing 👋🏻😊 happy Wednesday!
The older areas have all kinds of interesting ornamental details. There are also some cool concrete/plaster sculptural elements on them.
That’s cool.
Looks like they knew back than what they were doing and what was really pretty.
Sounds like more to capture and explore 😎🤓
Wow love those bronze masks and that ornate door. Close ups of that door would be interesting.
Hope you had a great day at work.
