Wednesday Walk - LA
I had to go to LA for work on this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
Heading out of Ohare they changed my gate and I had to run up and down this sppedway. At least the lights are cool.
Once in LA I had to go straight to work figuring out an AV mess. Pure chaos as always when commissioning a system. Stuff is always connected incorrectly and all the hardware always has bugs to work out.
This project is at USC and the campus is fairly nice looking.
The gazing pool in front of the library is quite nice. Fortunately it is spring break and I don't have to deal with swarms of students.
After hours of troubleshooting it was time to get lunch. Ended up eating across from the science center.
Fortunately we finished everything and got to walk around the campus a bit.
Some interesting arches, reminds me of an old school project I did in college.
Spring break makes it kind of eerie with everything so empty.
Some nice greenspace.

It is a strange place without students, almost post apocalyptic.
USC is beautiful but you kind of want to stay on campus in that part of LA. I've been to LA a lot over the years. The best thing I ever did was spend an afternoon at the Getty. HIGHLY recommend it if you can ever squeeze it in to a trip there. Very cool project btw. A lot of pressure on the design for an exhibit honoring distinguished architecture 😅
Sadly on these projects I rarely ever get a chance to see anything nearby. Lots of tent cities just outside campus though so maybe its for the better. I designed the exhibit/av/interactives elements for this project but the architect claimed the award lol.
when I was travelling with a young family at home, I just wanted to get home as fast as possible 🙂 put it on the list for later. Great museum but also great views of the city.

Most of the hiking was walking back and forth between the server room and the exhibits. Endless amounts of steps.

The united terminal is so large they need the speedway to help people get to gate changes fast enough. Wire chasing is quite the headache especially when problems are simple like just a bad cable.
Long day of work, relax
Sadly typical days like this are a good 15 hrs to hit deadlines. Barely got it done this time lol.
