We are back at the farm again for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

When we get bored and the baby needs a place to walk we visit a historic living farm that's nearby.

There are plenty of interesting still life objects to take photos of. Here is a vintage lightning rod that sends electricity into the ground via the metal cable. If only there was a way to harvest such intense energy.

Here is a lantern that has been converted to mosquito catching.

Finally the main purpose of visiting the farm. Lots of animals like this drafthorse. Soon it will be going to a competition to pull wagons in a town farther out in the boondocks.

There was even a baby calf, my daughter really enjoyed petting its ear. I think the cow just thought she was another type of annoying fly trying to get at his hear.

The sheep here beg for pets, they bleat loudly until you go over and pet them.
P1012014 copy.jpg
No petting of these stinky pigs. We did get a stick and scratch one's back though.

The ultimate energy absorbing activity for a toddler is to chase fairly tame chickens. The chickens were just out of reach and they helped wind her down for a nap later on.

Now for something completely out of place. A local artist has put these in various areas around the suburbs. This strangely painted Olmec head somehow ended up at the farm. I might have to go around and collect photos of the rest, they look a bit graffitied to me. I would prefer they would have just kept them stone colored like the original Olmec heads and focused on different shapes instead of gaudy colors.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

I can’t believe how big she has gotten. It’s really cool you have this farm nearby.

She is growing fast, 99 percentile for height. Fortunately there are quite a few farms nearby, we're slowly getting to know the various ones that let you visit.

looks like a Transformers head 🙂

The lightning rod with the glass ball is cool. I wanted it to work like a circuit breaker and explode breaking the circuit preventing the lightning from going to ground. But after some research that isn't how they work 🙁 they just blow up so you can verify a strike. BORING lol

Cute pics btw
training your daughter for quick feet like Rocky 😂

Ha the rocky movie, now I remember that scene. I put on a taekwondo match on tv and she was instantly trying to high kick, now I definitely need to consider what is shown on the tv for sake of the house plants.

We have a chicken too. Our farm is all about corn, and right now the corn are almost died because of heavy rain 😔

Yeah the heavy rain hit here too and ruined some crops. Have you ever tried cooking corn smut? Its the gray fungus that grows on the cobb when it rains too much. It is really good.

From the look in his eyes, the sheep seemed to be saying, just accompany me for a moment.

They love getting scratches on the head, seem quite itchy with all that wool and the sticks and mud stuck in the wool lol.
