Wednesday Walk - A Standard Lake Walk
Here are a few sights from my typical lake walk for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
Now that school has started the high school band is practicing marching and playing in the field by the lake. They had a metronome ticking constantly so they could march and play to the right timing. The guy on the ladder was correcting specific band members.
I managed to get the sun before it went down behind the lakehouse.
This is the north side of the lake. Lots of calm water today with no wind out.
Now on the west side I'm getting some good reflections. The last of the sun is lighting up the east bank over the perfectly calm water.
The cicadas are out like crazy this year. Maybe all the summer rains helped the weaker ones crawl out of the mud to hatch.
The wild roses are still getting attacked by Japanese beetles. They aren't as populated this year fortunately, but these two are working on fixing the population problem lol.
I finally found another harvestman. I've only seen around three this year so far.
Now for some strange blue berries with a large pit inside. I have no idea what these are or if they are poisonous. The juice didn't smell very sweet, odds are these taste bitter.
Time to head back home. Today we went back a different way and passed this old looking church.
Now its time to head to the gym for a quick hour workout.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
Awesome photos love the lake reflections and cool details
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Just the right conditions for reflections. Too bad there wasn't a flying crane at that time, would have made a nice reflection.
Ohh yes for sure a crane flying by would have been a nice thing to catch but still so beautiful without it
I loved how you captured the photo with reflection of trees. So clear!
Good luck in your gym workouts. How I wish I was so eager as you.
Haha its tough to keep going to the gym but worth it for the long haul later in life.
Hehe been convincing myself to hit ghe gym for years but no luck still now😂.
Just doing some short work outs at home if in mood (which seldom happened).
You really had a great captured and I love those cloud
The clouds have been nice and rich this summer especially in the evening.
Thanks for sharing
Love that reflection shot! You caught some nice lighting. Interesting berry. I have been jonesing on wild berries this year. I grab a few everytime we walk. I recently heard that no multisegment (aggregate, compound, there are different terms) berries that grow in the US are poisonous 🤔 I wouldn't take that to the bank or hospital lol
I've been searching on the ID for tose blue berries but still haven't found anything looking quite right. Maybe next time I'll gove them a taste test and hope they dont cause an instant laxative effect.
@sketch.and.jam Happy Wednesday walk
Blue berries look very nice. Beautiful clouds are floating in the sky. Would love to enjoy your Wednesday walk scenes.
Sometimes the clouds can make nice red colors in the evening. This time they mostly stayed blue.
Great you just captures the sun before it went down. 🌅 beautiful photographs @sketch.and.jam
The lake is just stunning. And all the insects you found.
Never seen those blue berries. Doesn’t look like they are edible.
Always nice to go different routes. 😉🤓
Thanks for sharing your walk with us.
Have a wonderful Wednesday 👋🏻☀️
The berries definitely look to bright and dangerouse to be edible. Or maybe they just have a nasty taste so no one documents them enough online. I still can't find anything similar to them online.
I have packed my books already (as I have an unplanned move 5th sep.) so can’t see if they are in there…
I won’t unpack either… for a long while until our big move.
I have some old books. One day I can look in them again hehehe 🤭
Quick unpack them I have already eaten one... j/k
Hahaha 🤣 nope not unpacking 38 boxes to search… hehehe 🤭 you know if you search something it is always in the last box 📦
I know you are joking 😉🤓
That water was like glass; what lovely reflections.
It just needed a huge bass jumping up breaking the reflection a bit.
Oh no! I loved how clear it was!
There is nothing nicer than a standard walk, so relaxing, familiar and enjoyable. I like the variety that is seen on these walks. The beautiful old church was an apt finish, they always get me thinking on who built it , when and how many people have walked through the doors to pray and get some peace and solace.
Its funny the things that you never realize are so close by when you take a different route.
