Three Tune Tuesday - Mullmuzzler
Here's an obscure solo project from the lead singer to Dream Theater for this #threetunetuesday by @ablaze
James LaBrie decided to do his own solo project after all the rest of the band did their own. In the end it has a similar sound but much lighter compared to Dream Theater.
Here is Shores of Avalon that has a nice instrumental intro. One thing that's interesting about this project is it was one of the first fully remote collaborative album. Each member just shared protool files over the young internet and mixed it in their home studios.
After a few years they did Mullmuzzler 2. This time it was much easier to do a remote album collaboration. Overall this collaboration made some unique prog rock that has a hint of Dream Theater.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

Interesting to hear what individual band members put out versus the band. Sometimes you get a feel for what each member brings to the collaboration. Other times just more music similar to what the band puts out.
This one has that late 90s prog rock new age sort of sound to it. I wonder if solo albums are just the individual guys getting tired of the group changing their stuff so they have to get it out of their system with a solo album. I think the drummer of Dreamtheater has a solo album somewhere of classic soul rock sounding songs, I have yet to find it online though.
