Squirrel Sunday - Neighborhood Watch

It is time for another #squirrelsunday

The neighborhood watch is constantly looking for trouble in the neighborhood.

P1010951 copy.jpg
If you think you can get away with anything there is always a set of eyes recording what you are doing. They will report any infractions to the squirrel high council.

If any member of the community is in trouble or causing trouble they are constantly watching to report the incidents. Some of them moonlight for the NSA (National Squirrel Agency) so they have quite a few spying skills at their disposal.

This one just saw a hawk take out a fox squirrel. What a gruesome sight, now they will have to report the incident and go to a PTSD class.

This one looked around for next of kin.

The sister was notified and sprung into action.

P1010952 copy.jpg
She retrieved her sister's kits and adopted them as her own. Those wretched hawks are always creating orphans in the forest as they eat their breakfast.

Thanks to the neighborhood watch the babies are now safe and sound in another home.

The neighborhood watch goes back to work. There is always something to be spied on in the forest... Especially those lumbering humans with their clicky camera things.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

go to a PTSD class

and go on paid administrative leave of course thanks to its powerful union

She retrieved her sister's kits

thats a great capture. I've seen feral cats move their kittens when endangered but not squirrels. But of course they would too.

their clicky camera things

the NSA is investigating but they are thought to be brain damaging sonic weaponry 😁

Its the first time I've seen them adopting or moving babies. My first thought was what a strange looking pink walnut that squirrel has.

It's true, you are never alone, especially when you take walks through the forest, there will always be a squirrel standing guard to report any anomaly.
What beautiful shots dear friend @sketch.and.jam, I appreciate you sharing this neighborhood watch
have a beautiful sunday

The squirrels know all. I use them to look for birds ofbbn prey, they have a certain warning call when a hawk or owl is in the area.
