Squirrel Sunday - Baseball Season

It is time for another #squirrelsunday

This young chipmunk thought it would be a good idea to head out and have fun in the sun today.

But suddenly a large group of roudy kids appeared wearing baseball and softball jerseys. They are just about to start little league.

Chippy said nope! I'm going back into my hole for the next few weeks. I don't want to be hit with a softball.

Sparrow is looking a bit stressed too. Man those kids and their wild throws often hit my kinds mid-air. I'm hiding out in these sticks for a while until the game is over.

The plump squirrel loves it when little league season starts. I hang around the picnic benches waiting for various hot dogs and fries to fall off the edge.

The health nut squirrel warns the plump one not to eat all that processed food. You won't even be able to climb up a tree anymore after eating all that.

Suddenly a foul ball was hit and the health nut squirrel had to hit the deck. Yipes I'm outta here.

The turtle invites the squirrel to come hide in the lake with him. The water really dulls the impact of those curve balls that come careening around everywhere.

As part of turtle society they elect their leaders based on who gets hit in the back with a baseball. Once you have passed the challenge you are now considered a turtle elder and can make decisions for the whole lake. These are the ambitious politicians of the lake. Once I get hit by the baseball I will provide universal basic algae for everyone in the lake... When asked about how this would be done, the turtle rambled about algae millionaires and billionaires then stormed off to a meeting where he will inform his staff that he will pay them half of minimum wage. Fortunately the baseball managed to hit him in the head and he ended up as heron food before he could implement his disastrous policies.
