It's Squirrel Sunday Again

#squirrelsunday is here again

I usually see at least one squirrel whenever I got out with my zoom lens looking for birds. Here is a tiny little juvenile squirrel with a walnut, it spent all day long chewing through the green part of the walnut to get to the nut.

Here's another one in the prairie perching on a tiny branch with an acorn in its mouth. This looks very uncomfortable to me but it works quite well as a pose for a nature photographer lol.

Here's one that ran out in front of me then crawled up a tree to look at me. They can be quite skittish but curious at the same time.

This is a scrappy squirrel that lives around the houses in my neighborhood. It is a tough city squirrel that probably fights over the treats it gets from the houses.

I often feel like something is staring at me in the forest, then when I look closely there is usually something looking. In this case it is a sneaky chipmunk.

I got a bit closer and it froze to blend into the bark background. Sneaky little spy.

Here's another chipmunk I saw scurry up a tree. When it spotted me it froze. Squirly isn't fooling me but the shade of the forest did make the photo a bit fuzzy.

This little guy lives right next to my condo. There are hedges and a wall that you can see him sitting on.

As I walk by it freezes up hoping I won't notice him sitting here. I've brought it some peanuts and pecans to try and tame him. Perhaps one day it will be eating out of my hand.
