Feathered Friday - Males Showing Off

Here are a few common male birds showing off for this #featheredfriday

The male goldfinches are calling loudly for a mate. They are quite tame at this point and you can get fairly close with a camera.

The trick is finding the right angle through the branches.

They have a nice bright song that sort of reminds me of an indigo bunting.

As usual the cardinals are high up in the trees being shy. They never let me get a good shot of them.

The easiest way to get a shot of these guys is at the feeder.

Grackles are not shy at all and this one was making its loud gurgling song without care as I snuck up on him.

They are best out in the bright sunlight so their blue heads can be shining.

This robin was sitting in a nice blooming tree. It was just in the wrong position for a shot against the flowers though.

I moved around to frame it a bit in the twisted branches. There are even some dandelion blooms in bokeh in the background now.
