Feathered Friday - Cute Sparrows

It's been forever since I posted for #featheredfriday by @melinda010100

I haven't been out walking looking for birds in a while since we've had the baby. Finally its getting warm enough to take her in the stroller and I was able to snag some photos of sparrows around the lake.

I even saw a blue jay but as usual it wasn't cooperating with me. It would always dive deeper into the tree right before I snapped the shot. Perhaps I can only get good photos of these guys if there is a feeder around.

So I had to go back to the sparrows. All the bushes were full of them as they clump together to keep warm and safe in numbers as there is a hawk that's been hanging around.

The wild roses are prime real estate for the flocks of sparrows to hang around in. They also love to nibble on the rose hips.

I snapped this shot right as it was about to leap off the branch. If I had waited just a fraction of a second I could have gotten it mid-flight.

The male sparrows are usually the proud ones that are less fearful of me and my camera. The rest of the flock stays huddled deep in the rosebushes.

I was able to get really close to this guy. I now just realize they have a winter coat that looks different than their summer coat where they have a thick black beard.

Now it looked to the right. Now that the weather is a bit warmer and I can take the baby out I should be able to get more bird photos, at least the sparrows will be out every day.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

In the winter they really puff up, I gotta try and go out early in the morning to see maximum fluff.

Sparrow is one of my favorite bird since childhood. Because I live in a village. My house is made of grass and that's why they used to come there to make their nest. However, only a small amount remains. After the lockdown, once again they started appearing in large numbers. thanks for sharing this amazing post.

These guys are called house sparrows and they love to best in people's attics and windows or wherever they can build a nest. They are fun to watch especially if you put out a bird feeder.

I think it was just enjoying the sun too much to fly away.

Always entertaining when they don't fly off, too busy on the branch to bother with you.

I had him in my sights for a perfect shot but it flew away just before I hit the shutter.

Benefits to getting the baby outside exceed a few bird photos 😉 nice captures btw 🙂 birds are becoming a bit more active around here. Titmouse and cardinals are calling out now. Staking out territory or looking for mates or just giving us humans hope for spring haha

The outside seems to put her to sleep instantly, she didn't even get to see all the sparrows sitting nice and still. I know there are titmouse around here but I rarely see them. Must be hanging out at all the neighbor's feeders.
