[ESP-ENG] An expensive cup of tea (5x of the normal price) | Story time

Hoping you guys are healthy and happy. Today, I decided to write a story time blog which title is

"An Expensive Cup of Tea"

The story started back in 2016 when I was working in north of Pakistan which is almost at 4 hour drive from the capital and simultaneously I also got admission in Mphil in Lahore which is pretty much far from my job's location (600+ km).
Fortunately the program was weekend based and I had an opportunity to work 5 days (Monday to Friday) and there were daily traveling buses which departures at 7, 8, and 9pm everyday then reaches between 4 to 6 am next morning which is almost 8 to 9 hour of traveling. So, I have to travel whole Friday night to attend two days classes and travel back whole sunday night to appear for my job early Monday morning. The routine was tough but for the sake of career somehow I managed it for two years.
Now coming toward the expensive tea, the bus have to travel 6 hours on Motorway so the only option to drink or eat we have left was the Motorway's rest area. It was daily routine of the buses after traveling for almost 3 hours on the motorway they made a stop at KalarKahar rest area for 30 minutes so whoever want to eat, drink or use restroom can easily fulfill their needs. When it was my first day we similarly stopped at the KalarKahar rest area so i went to a restaurant and asked for a cup of tea. After a minute or two they served me tea in a tiny disposable cup when i asked for the bill they told me that it cost 200 Pakistani rupees which was almost 2 dollors at that time. I was completely in shock because you can have double of the this cup size for only 30 Pakistani rupees at any restaurants. I tried to talk to them about why so expensive but they told me to either buy or go away, these are the normal day prices here. I was upset but took the tea and went back to the bus taking small sips as it was the most expensive sips of my life. Very next week when i was leaving home I took thermos cup with me which was capable of holding 700ml liquid at the same temperature for hours with closed lid and some sugar and tea sachets with my self. This time i was prepared and waiting for the rest area to reach, when I reached the rest area i went to the same restaurant and asked for warm water if they have so they took the cup from me and added 700ml water so I asked for the bill and they told me 20 Pakistani rupees, I happily paid them. Staying inside the restaurant infront of the counter i took out the sugar sachet and started pouring sugar in it then same with tea sachet. The employees of restaurant called me "Hey Mr you can't do this with the water and if you want to have tea you should buy tea." I responded that i paid for the water and now i am its owner and i can do with it whatever i want so they kept quiet and I happily left the restaurant with proud 🤣🤣.

La historia comenzó en 2016 cuando estaba trabajando en el norte de Pakistán, que está a casi 4 horas en automóvil de la capital y, al mismo tiempo, también obtuve la admisión en Mphil en Lahore, que está bastante lejos de la ubicación de mi trabajo (más de 600 km). Afortunadamente, el programa se basaba en fines de semana y tuve la oportunidad de trabajar 5 días (de lunes a viernes) y había autobuses que viajaban diariamente y salían a las 7, 8 y 9 p. m. todos los días y luego llegaban entre las 4 y las 6 a. 9 horas de viaje. Entonces, tengo que viajar toda la noche del viernes para asistir a clases de dos días y viajar de regreso toda la noche del domingo para presentarme a mi trabajo el lunes por la mañana temprano. La rutina era dura, pero por el bien de mi carrera, de alguna manera lo logré durante dos años. Ahora que viene hacia el té caro, el autobús tiene que viajar 6 horas por la autopista, por lo que la única opción para beber o comer que nos queda es el área de descanso de la autopista. Era la rutina diaria de los autobuses después de viajar durante casi 3 horas por la autopista, hicieron una parada en el área de descanso de KalarKahar durante 30 minutos para que quien quiera comer, beber o usar el baño pueda satisfacer fácilmente sus necesidades. Cuando era mi primer día, nos detuvimos en el área de descanso de KalarKahar, así que fui a un restaurante y pedí una taza de té. Después de un minuto o dos, me sirvieron té en una pequeña taza desechable cuando pedí la cuenta y me dijeron que costaba 200 rupias paquistaníes, que era casi 2 dólares en ese momento. Estaba completamente en shock porque puedes tener el doble de este tamaño de taza por solo 30 rupias paquistaníes en cualquier restaurante. Traté de hablar con ellos sobre por qué son tan caros, pero me dijeron que comprara o me fuera, estos son los precios normales de un día aquí. Estaba molesto, pero tomé el té y volví al autobús tomando pequeños sorbos, ya que fueron los sorbos más caros de mi vida. La semana siguiente, cuando salía de casa, me llevé un termo que era capaz de contener 700 ml de líquido a la misma temperatura durante horas con la tapa cerrada y algunas bolsitas de azúcar y té. Esta vez estaba preparado y esperando que llegara el área de descanso, cuando llegué al área de descanso fui al mismo restaurante y pedí agua tibia si tenían, así que me quitaron la taza y agregaron 700 ml de agua, así que pedí el factura y me dijeron 20 rupias paquistaníes, felizmente les pagué. Quedándome dentro del restaurante frente al mostrador, saqué la bolsita de azúcar y comencé a verter azúcar en ella, luego lo mismo con la bolsita de té. Los empleados del restaurante me llamaron "Oiga, señor, no puede hacer esto con el agua y si quiere tomar té, debe comprar té". Respondí que pagué por el agua y ahora soy su dueño y puedo hacer con ella lo que quiera, así que se quedaron callados y felizmente salí del restaurante con orgullo.
