Traditional Salad from Indonesia : Vegetable Salad with Peanut Sauce
Hello guys...
Today I will make one of the traditional Indonesian foods, namely Traditional Salad with peanut sauce or in Indonesia called "Pecel". Pecel is a popular food in East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta. Each region also has differences in serving dishes, you know. Especially the difference in the taste and consistency of the peanut sauce.
Vegetable pecel is one of the most popular traditional foods. Often referred to as a typical Indonesian salad, vegetable pecel consists of a variety of boiled vegetables drenched in peanut sauce. Pecel vegetables can also be served with other complementary ingredients, such as eggs, tempeh, tofu.
One of the unique things about pecel is the vegetables. In this first method of making pecel, there are several types of vegetables that must be prepared to make a complete pecel dish.
Vegetable ingredients needed:
• 1 bunch of long beans
• 1 bunch mustard greens
• 1 piece of cabbage
• 1 bunch spinach
• 1 cucumber, cut into pieces
• 50 grams of bean sprouts
• 10 sticks of chickpeas
Ingredients for making peanut sauce:
• 7 cloves of garlic
• 4 lime leaves
• 100 grams of brown sugar
• 100 grams of peanuts, fried and mashed
• 4 lime leaves
• Cayenne pepper (amount according to taste)
• Salt to taste
• Enough water
How to make:
• Vegetables that have been provided are cut or sliced.
• Boil all vegetables until cooked, then drain.
• Fried peanuts.
• Saute garlic, cayenne pepper, and lime leaves.
• Comb brown sugar, then dissolve with tamarind with cup water.
• Puree the peanuts that have been fried by pulverizing together with the garlic, cayenne pepper, and lime leaves that have been sauteed or fried.
• When the peanut sauce is smooth, pour in the brown sugar and tamarind solution.
• Add salt, mix well.
• Prepare a container to put the pecel seasoning.
• Add enough water.
• Prepare the vegetables on a serving plate and pour them with peanut sauce
Finally pecel foam served and enjoyed. Pecel can be enjoyed with additional tempeh, tofu and crackers.
This is a good, healthy and delicious food. Because all the ingredients made from plants and vegetables and how to cook it is also healthy without using oil by boiling the vegetables. It can also be used as a diet menu because the calories from this pecel are also few and rich in fiber.
This is it for today guys, I hope you enjoy this post.
