Hidden Treasures of Tuscany: A Serene Escape to Duda Village
Hello dear friends,
Here I am, to share a new place in Tuscany with you, a location, or rather a village, that I was fortunate enough to visit a few months ago. However, I had put the photos in a drawer, waiting for the right moment to share them with you.
By the way, if I remember correctly, I visited this place on a Sunday, and unfortunately, I couldn’t buy any local products as the only shop there was closed. I’m talking about Duda, which is part of the municipality of Greve in Chianti, a place surrounded by vineyards and olive groves that certainly offer breathtaking landscapes. But the most important thing, in my opinion, is the atmosphere of peace and tranquility that reigns here.
I arrived in my car at this beautiful square you see in the photo, where the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, one of the main attractions of the village, is located. Unfortunately, this church was also closed, so I couldn’t visit it.
What I noticed is that nearby there was a small local shop. Luckily, you can still find these little shops in Tuscany from time to time, where local products and wines are usually sold, especially in this particular and very productive area of Tuscany.
I took my usual stroll nearby to better appreciate the architecture and to notice something special that I could photograph. I must say, I found a very unique cactus, which is quite strange to see in this part of Italy, and particularly in Tuscany.
I continued my walk, always noticing very beautiful glimpses of this village. It’s not rich in many tourist attractions, especially in terms of architecture, but its intimacy, despite being inhabited by many people, certainly consecrates it as a place of peace.
Of course, it’s not worth coming here specifically, but this village can definitely be a midpoint for a more extensive exploration of the Chianti area. I also noticed during my walk that there are several vacation homes in the village, which gives you the opportunity to have a very traditional experience. The beauty of visiting these places is not so much about the tourist attractions, which are practically nonexistent, but rather about combining a desire for hikes in nature with the tasting of local products, especially for wine lovers.
I hope the photos have been interesting, and as usual, I hope you can visit these places. I’ll see you in my next post, and I wish you all a happy and peaceful day!
