"Exploring the Charming Montecarlo di Lucca: A Hidden Gem of Tuscany"
Hello dear friends,
Today, on this rainy day, I've decided to prepare a post about a place in Tuscany that I saw some time ago, but which I realized by looking at the map that I always forgot to share here in the community, and this is absolutely not okay because I think it's a beautiful place that everyone should know, or maybe some of you already know.
I'm talking about Montecarlo di Lucca, not to be confused with the more famous Monte Carlo which is not located in Italy, a gem nestled between the Lucchesia and the Valdinievole. It's a beautiful medieval village with its historic center still in excellent condition, protected by medieval walls, and has recently been recognized with the "Orange Flag" by the Touring Club, precisely because it has become a top tourist destination in Italy. In fact, unlike other less famous villages that I've already talked about here, this one has recently become very popular among tourists from all over the world.
To enter the village, you have to go through two medieval gates, Porta Fiorentina and La Porticciola. The village itself is well-maintained as you can see from the photos I've shared. There are many small local businesses and restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine. But the most important thing about this place in recent years is that it has become a destination for wine lovers. In fact, there are several wineries around here, and many places have sprung up, mainly focused on selling wine.
As you well know, I'm not a wine lover myself. More than anything, when I come to these parts, maybe I take a walk around here and come to admire especially the architecture of this beautiful village.
Thank you for reading this post, I hope you liked the photos I shared, and I hope you have the opportunity to visit this place in the near future.
See you soon, dear friends!
