“ Sunshine on my shoulder’s makes me happy! “ 😎
It was good to see the Sun this morning!
“ Silvertop why isn’t the furnace running?”🥶
The Mrs had to be to work early this morning………
With the Arctic blast of a nor’easter winter storm blowing hard last night, Silvertop set up our gas furnace to run if the temperature dropped hard during night!
We had no idea how low the temperature was going, the weather forecast was calling for single digits!😬
We very seldom run this very high efficiency furnace. The warmth of our large wood stove can’t be matched !😊
In fact some years we don’t even flip the electrical breaker on!😇
So Silvertop tapped the temperature up on the programmable digital thermostat…………
The “ Away from home default “ was programmed for 46 degrees.
This is for an empty house when we are on vacation just to make sure we don’t have frozen pipes!😇
What Silvertop forgot to do was tap “ Hold temp “………..😳
We awoke early as usual………
I checked the thermostat and it had flipped back to our “away “ setting, and we had a balmy 56°F INSIDE!🥶
I quickly ran the thermostat temperature up!
Well……. Silvertop won’t forget that again Lol!🤣😇
I texted my son a photo of our outdoor temperature at 9:12 AM
1.4°F!!!🥶
He tells me this is a record low!
“ Dad this is ridiculous, I don’t want to play anymore Lol! “🤣😇
He and his Wife have a farm with many animals to care for, and this weather can be a challenge!
Up on our rooftop, we have our own weather station connected online to “ weather underground “.
It picks up some heat from our rooftop and was showing 4°F Fahrenheit!😎
A bitter cold nor’easter continued to blow all day today !😮
I think we have one more day of severe cold weather!
Well ………at least the Sun is out!😎
