Am a proud mother of 3 adorable kids and in taking care of my kids I have realized the efforts my mom had put in to raise us.
I have tried showing appreciation to my mum in different ways but writing her a love letter wasn't in my mind until ladiesofhive brought the topic for the week and to me it was amazing and something worth trying.
I kept wondering how she will feel having to read a letter from me
Guess what ladies? It was so amazing and emotional.I told my kids that we are visiting grandma and they all shouted with Joy because they love their grandma alot and I called my mom telling her that on my way to her place.

Being a parent is a huge, monumental responsibility, I have always said it, it is not a matter of conceiving because the biological clock indicates it, or because it is indicated and dictated by society, in fact it is such a demanding and important job that it is preferable not to have children if the person is not prepared or does not want to assume all that parenthood entails. I say this because today I have seen with sadness how several values that for years our ancestors instilled in us have been gradually lost, society has become more empty, consumerist and frivolous, often even hypocritical, some are shocked when they see a father or mother severely reprimand their son or daughter, and immediately jump to criticize but do not have the context of the situation, or simply there are parents who for not "traumatizing" their children do not reprimand them when they act badly, believing that ignoring their faults is an act of love, but it is really an act of irresponsibility, because they are precisely giving them to understand that they are owners of the world and can do whatever they want regardless of whether it is right or wrong, as a result they get spoiled children, petulant young people and frustrated adults when they run face to face with the reality that life will not always give you what you think you deserve.

You arrived untimely one sunny August morning, subjugating with your stamp, contingencies, ups and downs, and low percentages of probability. In the apparent and disfigured chaos, you burst into my life with the devastating power of a hurricane. I waited for you, I dreamed of you, I longed to have you in my arms to feel you and caress you. But it was you, who decided the day and time of arrival, defying the expectation with the slenderness of your presence, original, unique, and unrepeatable, in this earthly world.
Your exquisite presence flipped the switch of the most precious feelings, those I didn't know were latent in my soul, making you my perfect and invulnerable connection. With cunning, you wove countless threads of everlasting love, which will never tear. With you, my perspectives widen, my gaze widens, my motivation overflows, surprise and the unexpected spruce up the day-to-day.
With you there are no routines that trap me in endless cycles, on the contrary, you generate a diversity of meanings, which are transformed into opportunities to discover unexplored aspects of myself, which help me understand who I am and my true purpose in life.
I confess that sometimes it has been a real challenge, I have been cornered by my fears, and in difficult moments I have been lost, in the fog and exhaustion, feeling doubts, uneasiness, and uncertainty. But with you I have learned to face unexpected and challenging situations, finding light in the shadows.
Daughter! Thank you for embellishing my existential journey of many adventures, emotions, and challenges that have contributed with each experience to my self-discovery. You are responsible for my greatest transformation, you have filled me with happiness, with pure and deep love, leaving clear imprints in my personal development. Thank you for so many moments of joy and happiness, which counteract in unison the rigidities and unpleasantness of this life, thank you for filling my existence with charms. I love you, my daughter!

Life would be a total mirage without my Mother and I am not mincing words. My mother stood her ground to ensure that all her daughters were educated no matter the cost. Due to this singular decision, my mother took up a job in a school and asked the authority to use her stipends as our fees. How we ate at home, still remains a wonder to us. During the weekend, she would hawk sachet water so we would eat.
When she couldn’t cope with all the challenges, she had to home-school us. I recall I first learned the word Gender from my mum. My mother is a force to reckon with. Very disciplined and always interested in every details of our life.
My mother taught us the way of the lord. She would introduce us to family fasting, engage us in bible reading routine and would ask us to preach during devotions. Today I have proven that training a child in the way of the lord can never be a wasted investment. I find it very difficult to club or indulge in other social vice that are unethical and when I look back I can only trace it to the woman whose breast was my first meal.

Patience is the most important and essential trait that a parent must possess, regardless of the child's age. Think about the amount of patience you need to possess in order to interact with the average adult -- even people that you love! 🥵 Now imagine the patience it takes to handle a human being that has just come into the world, has only known instant gratification, has no idea how to regulate their feelings, takes all of those feelings out on you, and relies on you for everything! 🤯 It is an extremely tasking role and responsibility.
While children are busy navigating through all of these experiences, feelings and thoughts, the last thing their protector should be doing is exploding, thereby tainting the memories for the child... It's why patience is vital, and will be necessary during all stages of a child's life.
