Minnowsupport: Weekly Picks for Saturday, 1/13/2024

Every Friday and Saturday, I get to pick from articles particularly submitted to us by minnows for consideration in answering the Ladies of Hive weekly prompt by the moderators.

It is a privilege to curate for #MSP-Curation every Saturday as a part of the @Minnowsupport initiative. "Peace, Abundance, Liberty" is the motto of PAL, which supports all Hive users, but notably the minnows.

And what a wonderful opportunity to pick five articles from Ladies of Hive, which is my main focus!

For this week:

Is there a person or a special moment that you want to thank for making 2023 a great year?

~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~

Share with us what skills do you have and want to put into practice this new year.

@graciel-chan

I have learned to feel grateful for everything good and bad that happens to me, for me 2023 was full of pages of illness because I am asthmatic, sadness because I lost my friend Alex, I broke my relationship of almost a year, I cried on many occasions but far from all these bitter pages of my life I found joy in the faces of my parents, the tender embrace of my nephew, details of life that have an emotional value superior to all the bad that I had to live 2023.
I am alive! I have come far, for a moment I lost my mind, my spirits but I passed the test of loneliness, because in those times of silence I discovered my potential to write, to transform my pain into verses, that is the special moment of my year 2023.
Sometimes we focus on all the bad things that happen to us, we regret about life, if we scrutinize a little bit that pain we discover lessons, we are grateful for living, for dreaming, for new opportunities, maybe I do not achieve many things but I made my effort now I must open my heart to new opportunities.
Looking forward to 2023 to close those chapters of my life, grateful for every detail, for my loved ones and to give way to this 2024 with peace and good cheer is necessary.

As we say goodbye to the year 2023, a lot happened to me in that year. I am overcome with deep appreciation for anything and everyone involved with me. Although the year has been somewhat of a rollercoaster with me and its share of highs and lows, looking back, I see more grounds for gratitude than not.
First of all, I would like to thank a few of my friends, Anie and Maryen, for being there when I needed them to. Their support since the beginning of the year, before and during my operation, has been truly a blessing. I will always treasure the kindness and care they gave me throughout my recovery.
I am also extremely grateful to my friends for supporting me through my worst times. I really couldn't have made it through those difficult days without their unwavering support and presence. Some might call me or even text me; some of them might video call me just to show their support for me.
My favourite memories of the year have been the ones that I've spent with my family. There are a few moments that really made my year: the ones we spent laughing, eating together, and spending quality time together, especially with my son, who was in his last year of primary school.
Thinking back over last year's 2023 event reminded me of the wealth in my life—a loving family, understanding and kind friends, and always ready to face the concequenses. These are the real riches that money can't buy, and I really appreciate for every good and bad that happens to me throughout the year.

Undoubtedly 2023 was a year that brought me a lot of joys, and it was full of unforgettable moments that made me enjoy a special year. I want to thank you for putting unique people on my path because without them the year would not have been the same. I would like to celebrate for the happy and incredible moments that I lived, I grew as a person and just by looking back a little I can realize that I am not the same one that started 2023.
My favorite time of the year was the summer, in those months I enjoyed like never before, I laughed like there was no tomorrow, I went from one place to another, I shared with amazing people, I lived unique moments with my family.
That summer I changed my hair color, started putting on makeup, started working out. They were magnificent moments that made my year take a 180º turn. I am thankful for the summer for that.
I would like to thank my family, because without them I would not have enjoyed the year so much, thanks to them I could enjoy very beautiful moments because if they were not present nothing would be the same anymore.
In this new year I want to dedicate myself fully to something that I have been passionate about since childhood: baking. I always make sweets in my free time, as a hobby and I have been thinking about doing that for a long time, I think that this 2024 is my opportunity, I will have a lot of free time before starting university and what better opportunity than doing what I like.

God made my 2023 a wonderful year, since February when the nausea was uncontrollable and I was full of projects and activities at work, I assumed that the nausea was just stress and anxiety. It was enough to prepare a chocolate cake to realize that what was to come was a great blessing.
It was curious as the months went by, all the symptoms were different from the two previous pregnancies, I rejected some foods, the smell was overwhelming, not to mention the desserts and cakes, I could not even try something that months before I ate like crazy and now it was abhorrent.
Months went by and the belly began to show, as well as the constant vomiting, fatigue even from water and weakness. It was terrible to see that I felt like lying down all day long, being a very active person and having our small children who still demanded my attention. God was filling me with strength and I was overcoming everything.
And it wasn't until October 31 that I had my C-section and met the beautiful Jireh de los Angeles. My children are her bodyguards, they adore her. My husband looks like a lion, and I am grateful to God every day for this great gift.
Baby Jireh is a baby that has brought blessings to our home, she has brought us closer as a family, and every day she makes us understand that God is wonderful and loves us.
Having this little girl was without a doubt the most special moment of 2023.

I have so much to be grateful for, from every day lived, to the bad experiences that taught me some lessons, but I will be focusing on two occasions that marked my presidency during this time.
2023 started in the best way, with the opening of my own house, you can't imagine the happiness I felt at that moment, it was a dream come true, because when I started my family, my main goal was to have my own space, where I could seeing my children grow up and living many experiences there that will be part of our memories.
After hard work and years trying to achieve this goal, the opportunity came to see it as a reality, I believe that this will be the main reason why I will remember this year with great affection.
Likewise, that year I was able to see my oldest son have his promotion from primary to secondary school, it was such a great emotion that there are no ways to be grateful for having these opportunities.

There is one person doing the curation for the day (actually, two days), and if your article gets read by one of these people, most likely you will be featured. You can write under the Ladies of Hive, and I curate on Fridays and Saturdays. @revolverocelotyt .
