The most beautiful mountain expedition in Bangladesh, Nafakhum-Amiyakhum

1st Day 15 November :

I have been wanting to go to Nafakhum and Amiyakhum for a long time, but due to time and tour members, I have not been able to go. When I saw some pictures and videos in the group of Travelers of Bangladesh, I decided in my heart that one day I will go here inshallah. Finally managed to convince some of my friends that we will go to Nafakhum and Amiyakhum. We fixed a date about a month in advance, that is November 14th.

10 days before leaving, we book tickets for Bandarban because 5 friends will go. We boarded the bus at 10 pm on the 14th and got off the bus at Bandarban around 5.30 am. After that, I immediately booked the return ticket to Dhaka and the 9 pm bus. After that we fixed Chand's car to go to Thanchi and we went to Volipara BGB check post there without having breakfast here. We submitted the photocopy of our National ID card and completed our name and address entry and left for Thanchi. The beauty of the road on both sides of Thanchi is bound to impress you, while looking at both sides of the road, we finally reached Thanchi and got down around 9.50 am 🙂

We fixed a guide from Dhaka and sent him some money as an advance to Bikash. We talked with him about 5000 thousand rupees with the local guide of Amiyakhum and also said that someone else can go with us, but when we met the guide after going to Thanchi, he said that he has to increase some more money, then he said more. We agreed to give 6000 Dhaka with 1 thousand.

After landing at Thanchi the guide will take you to the office to get permission to go. The guide will help you to complete the work by submitting the photocopy of the National ID card and signing the name and address of everyone. We pre-booked the boat for 5000 rupees to and from Remakri. You will not be allowed more than 5 people in one boat. Life jacket has to be taken for 50 taka per day and I have made it 150 taka for 3 days. As we will not get much food towards Remakri, we left Thanchi Bazar after lunch. But yes, some time after getting on the boat, there will be no network on the mobile, which will end before talking, then you will have to stay out of the network for the duration of your stay. Mobile will only be used for taking pictures, cannot use any social media or talk to anyone. 😢😢

The journey of the Sangu River through the mountains on both sides and in the middle began. It is not really possible to express the beauty of this river in any written or oral language. One place will fill your mind. We reached Remakri after 2 hours. Remakri Falls is also very beautiful. Since we were short of time we did not spend much time on our way here, our intention was to stay at Nafakhum. Then our trekking started, we all started walking with a stick. Only those who have gone before can feel the fun of walking along this road with Sangu river between the mountains on both sides.

There are many beautiful places on the way, if you waste time taking pictures, you will be late. But you must take some pictures. It took us about 2 hours and 20 minutes to reach Nafakhum. You have to walk this thick road. It was 4.30 pm when we reached Nafakhum. 😍There we took some pictures, took some rest and changed our plan and decided to stay at Thuisapara. By this time it was night, we started walking with the flashlight of the mobile, thus we walked for 2.20 minutes to Andharkar. We finally went to Thuisapara through Jinnapara around 7.20 pm. Guide brother arranged cooking for us at night. We have provided the guide's food, this must be paid. After dinner we all went to sleep because we were all tired after walking for 5 hours.

The story of the 2nd day begins on November 16 (Amiyakhum):

On the morning of the 16th we got up at 6 o'clock and went out after eating to see Amiyakhum, for whom Asha had walked so hard. We started walking around 7.20 am with a mountain local guide, brother's name is john this brother is a very good hearted person I will give his mobile number below. He will take you from Thanchi if you confirm. Now let's talk about the work, going up the mountain will be easy and going down will be very difficult.

After walking for 1 hour we reached the top of Devtapahar. Seeing this high mountain, I lost my head how to climb this steep mountain. Even saying 90 degrees will be wrong, such a steep hill. Once lost, the job is never to be found

Anyway, with courage in my heart, I started descending slowly. It took us about 50 minutes to descend this hill. But after going down so hard, when you see Amiyakhum Falls, you will forget everything in a moment. I think this tour is the best tour of my life. After going to Amiyakhum, you will think at least once how beautiful the Paradise made by Allah can be. So much trouble will not seem like anything after seeing Amiyakhum falls. After spending a good time here, it's time to climb Devtapahar again. 😢 I found it easier to go up than to go down. It took us 30 minutes to get up. By walking like this, our Thuisapara slowly reached 2 o'clock in the afternoon. After freshening up and finishing our lunch, we left for Nafakhum, planning to stay there for the night.

Day 3 begins:

From Nafakhum night we set out for Remakri the next morning. After going to Remakri, we took a bath and came to Thanchi by boat. Then we fixed Chand's car for only 2700 taka at the time of arrival which we paid 6000 at the time of departure. Coming from Thanchi to Bandarban city, we finished dinner and boarded the bus for Dhaka.

Note that the cost of food and accommodation for the guide accompanying you is yours. After all our expenses it was 5700 per person. We were 8 people. We traveled with 5 friends and 3 friends from another group.

Most important point. Do not drop packets of chips, packets of biscuits, banana peels, water bottles anywhere on the way to Nafakum, or in Remakri. On the way of Nafakum trekking, we saw a lot of garbage left by tourists on the river bank. It is really sad to see such garbage in the heavenly beauty.

None of our team was happy with the guide we went through. His name is Rafiq. He was found there by the name of Rafiq. I would personally suggest taking a mountain guide.
