From seed to fruit, how to grow citrus plants at home, without buying them at the nursery.

First step: select the best seeds and let them dry.

Second step: sow them in a small container (in this case a tomato canning jar).

Third step: bury them at a depth of no more than two centimeters and moisten the soil well with sufficient water.

Fourth step: After about ninety days the seedlings will start to come out of the soil and grow vigorously.

Fifth step: in this case it is convenient to pierce the bottom of the jar and plant it in soil.

Sixth step: in this way it will be favored with all the nutrients that the same one grants him for its growth.

Seventh step: after a few months we will see how the plant, which has already established its roots in the soil, begins to develop more quickly.

Eighth step: remove the container from the soil once the citrus plant is well rooted in the soil.

Ninth step: in this case I let the seedlings continue to develop in the container.

Almost all of us, especially as children, have experienced the beautiful sensation of seeing fruit trees full of oranges, tangerines, pears, plums, peaches and so many other beautiful fruits.

Generally at our grandparents' house, in those houses with a patio, where grandma usually took care of the garden and grandpa took care of the orchard and fruit trees.

I grew up in that environment, with Italian ancestors, and I remember the beautiful perfume of the flowers (especially the orange blossom of the orange tree), the swarms of bees that came systematically to pollinate them and then the delicious taste of their fruits.

It was a time without agrochemicals, intensive production, monoculture, etc.

I remember with nostalgia that time when I see so many people that in order to grow any kind of plants, small or large, garden, orchard or fruit trees, they immediately go to the nursery to buy a species already developed (and in some cases they sell them with the fruits hanging).

Without realizing that many times these plants have burned roots because of the amount of fertilizers they have in their own soil, because of insufficient risk or excessive exposure in these conditions.

Today I am going to explain to you step by step (in the pictures you will find the explanation) how to cultivate in your own home the fruit tree of your liking starting from a simple seed. That seed of the fruit that perhaps you have bought in the greengrocer's around the corner or in the same supermarket.

Yes, it requires patience and a minimum of work.

But the results, as you can see in the pictures, are more than satisfactory.
