Here's some quick info on the game:

(Actual post is BELOW this intro info!)

[GAMEPLAY] In Elden Ring, players control a customizable player character on a journey to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord. Gameplay elements include combat using several types of weapons and magic spells, horseback riding, and crafting.

[STORY] Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional landmass ruled over by several demigods. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested as the physical concept of order. When Marika eventually shattered the Elden Ring and disappeared, her demigod children began warring over pieces of the Ring in an event called the Shattering. Each demigod possesses a shard of the Ring called a Great Rune, which corrupts them with power. In the game, the player character is a Tarnished, one of a group of exiles from the Lands Between who are summoned back after the Shattering. As one of the Tarnished, the player must traverse the realm to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.

Today's post is about me clearing a dungeon boss with my pal Fang and later taking down the Wormface monster guarding the Minor Erdtree in the Altus Forest.

~

I start off our co-op dungeon crawl by casting the Golden Vow incantation and upping our offense and defense.

~

I cast Flame Grant Me Strength to raise my physical attack power further and improve my fire magic even more.

~

Safely picking off distant foes in the dark with the Frenzied Burst incantation.

~

Always turn on your waist-lantern!

~

This dude was trying to hide in the corner and hit him with a quick Lightning Spear to the face.

~

Laying out some support fire for Fang with my Black Flames fireball.

~

Another of these giant axe lizards rolls through the black flames to hit me!

~

Golden Vow only lasts about 90 seconds so I got to recast it every now and then.

~

It's hard to see in this screenshot but a giant ogre just dropped down thanks to Fang luring it out with arrows so I light it up.

~

Found another speaking mask somewhere in the dungeon.

~

Here we are finally at the end of the dungeon at the boss veil.

~

This boss is a higher-level perfumer and a great-sword red lion so it's a lot easier to do this 2 vs 2, then 1 vs 2.

~

His sword swipes are super effective against me and my low physical defense.

~

You can see Fang making quick-work of the Perfumer in the back.

~

Face to face with death -- this monster is pretty fast.

~

And ... THUMBNAIL

~

Thank the Elden Gods I survived this, pretty crazy ground-slam attack.

~

After taking down the perfumer, Fang joins me in taking down the Misbegotten who doesn't believe in half-time breaks and rushes past us while rearing back his blade.

~

The way he attacks us results in a slight delay before the damage sets in -- almost making the attack look like a cool samurai light-speed attack.

~

With the Misbegotten Warrior distracted by Fang, I dish out some fire damage with Flame Frenzy incantation.

~

And with that victory, I get a new Spirit Summon -- a Perfumer.

~

Since Fang helped me out he gets sent out of my world and leaves to go take care of some stuff.

~

Here's the map to show where I am.

~

I fast-travel to get closer to the Minor Erdtree where a boss is waiting for me.

~

I spot some smaller worm-face monsters, kill them, and then strengthen myself with this Great Rune from Godrick that ups all my stats by 5 points.

~

Here's me activating the Great Rune.

~

I find some more smaller worm-faced monsters and carefully take them out.

~

Since I'm near a Minor Erdtree, there's a few Guardian Spearmen standing about so I take them out from afar with my Frenzied Burts spell.

~

Golden Vow to up my power.

~

I sneak up on the boss and do Flame Frenzy to build up some fire damage.

~

This beast is pretty spooky-looking and it's incredibly tall so it almost feels like I'm fighting a walking tree with a blanket full of worms on its head.

~

One of my strategies is to get right under bosses and launch powerful moves in between their ground-stomp attacks.

~

I love the sight of that explosion.

~

Here's the boss chasing me through the woods, trying to grab me and toss me in its creepy worm-infested mouth.

~

I luckily didn't get hit by this weird head-butt attack.

~

Unfortunately the kill shot was made while there were trees blocking my view but a win is a win.

`

Success!

~

These are the two items I win from defeating this boss.

~

This looks like it could make for an interesting Physick potion.

What a game! that look like a hard one.
Such big bosses that you can't see the whole body at once.

Yeah, Wormface was tough because it felt like I was fighting a running tree. I'm not sure if this is accurate but I feel like for other fights the camera is tilted or zoomed out a little to include all the active bodies. This battle wasn't too bad but there are definitely much more fun and exciting fights and cooler-looking monsters. Thanks for visiting my post :)
