Gojo Satoru Fanart | Cell Shading Practice [ESP/ENG]

Hola amigos de Alien Art Hive! El día de hoy les vengo a enseñar esta ilustración sencilla que realicé el día de hoy.

Quería posterior a Megumi, realizar un fanart de Gojo, y me pareció interesante continuar con la estetica del dibujo anterior. Podrían tomarse como unos match icons.

Gojo es un personaje del que me han hablado desde antes de siquiera tener noción de qué era Jujutsu y fue el único con el que empecé la serie sabiendo quién es, qué hace y su lore completo lol. Honestamente no fue hasta la segunda temporada donde se centran en su arco de historia, y explican como obtuvo sus poderes y por qué es tan poderoso. Usualmente están estos guionazos en el anime donde el protagonista es todopoderoso y nadie entiende por qué, pero Gojo no tiene solo suerte de guión, poseé uno de los poderes más interesantes y mejor explicados de toda la serie completa y sin duda me empezó a gustar exponencialmente más desde que comprendí lo que hace.

Nuevamente me limité a plasmar el dibujo en un estilo de anime convencional, para seguir practicando el cell shading. Aunque este dibujo me tomó más tiempo y fue particularmente más complicado que el anterior, seguramente por la cantidad de detalles en el cabello y que posee lentes.

A continuación les enseñaré el paso a paso de la ilustración, espero les guste.

Hello friends of Alien Art Hive! Today I come to show you this simple illustration that I made today.

I wanted to follow Megumi, to make a fanart of Gojo, and I thought it was interesting to continue with the aesthetics of the previous drawing. They could be taken as match icons.

Gojo is a character I've been told about since before I even had a notion of what Jujutsu was and he was the only one I started the series with knowing who he is, what he does and his full lore lol. Honestly it wasn't until the second season where they focus on his story arc, and explain how he got his powers and why he's so powerful. Usually there's these storylines in anime where the main character is all-powerful and no one understands why, but Gojo isn't just lucky script-wise, he has one of the most interesting and best explained powers in the entire series and I've definitely started to like him exponentially more since I understood what he does.

Again I limited myself to capture the drawing in a conventional anime style, to continue practicing cell shading. Although this drawing took me more time and was particularly more complicated than the previous one, probably because of the amount of details in the hair and the fact that it has glasses.

Next I will show you the step by step of the illustration, I hope you like it.

Para este dibujo empecé dibujando la forma del rostro y la posición, junto al vestuario. Posteriormente dibujé los ojos, tuve un poco de problema con el ojo izquierdo dado a que no los dibujé ambos simultaneamente (grave error), y culminé con el cabello y los lentes.

For this drawing I started by drawing the shape of the face and the position, along with the costume. Then I drew the eyes, I had a little problem with the left eye because I didn't draw them both simultaneously (big mistake), and I finished with the hair and the glasses.

Lineart

Pulí un poco los detalles del sketch con el borrador en vez de empezar el lineart en una capa nueva, agregué los detalles que faltaban y por último coloreé la capa de negro.

I polished a little the details of the sketch with the eraser instead of starting the lineart in a new layer, I added the missing details and finally I colored the layer black.

Base Color

Debido a que el cabello de Gojo es blanco tuve que hacer una capa de fondo color morado para poder aplicar los colores y verlos. Posterior a eso extraje los colores base de una captura del anime, y ajuste los colores a un mejor tono de saturación.

Because Gojo's hair is white I had to make a purple undercoat to be able to apply the colors and see them. After that I extracted the base colors from a screenshot of the anime, and adjusted the colors to a better saturation tone.

Apliqué sombras con figuras planas en color purpura, todas con el mismo tono y posteriormente ajuste la opacidad diferente en distintas zonas. Apliqué un poco de rubor en las mejillas para darle más vida al tono de la piel.

I applied shadows with flat figures in purple, all with the same tone and then adjusted the opacity differently in different areas. I applied a little blush on the cheeks to give more life to the skin tone.

Sombré algunas zonas del cabello con tonos lila, luego con un violeta más oscuro hice las separaciones en los mechones de cabello. Terminé aplicando unos pequeños reflejos en blanco con una capa en luminosidad.

I shaded some areas of the hair with lilac tones, then with a darker violet I made the separations in the hair strands. I finished by applying a few small white highlights with a luminous layer.

Coloreé los ojos sin mucho detalle ya que los lentes son los que predominan en la ilustración, y por último le apliqué reflejos a los lentes y a la montura, dandoles un detalle metalico.

I colored the eyes without much detail since the lenses are the predominant ones in the illustration, and finally I applied reflections to the lenses and the frame, giving them a metallic detail.

Finalmente terminé poniendo de fondo una imagen similar a la del dibujo anterior que encontré en freepik, y le ajuste los colores a unos poco menos realistas. Luego le apliqué al personaje una capa en multiplicar con dos colores que seleccioné de la imagen del fondo, para que hiciera mejor contraste de colores, y así terminó luciendo.

Finally I ended up putting a background image similar to the one in the previous drawing I found on freepik, and adjusted the colors to a little less realistic. Then I applied to the character a multiply layer with two colors that I selected from the background image, to make a better contrast of colors, and that's how it ended up looking.
